We had the absolute pleasure of staying here for our honeymoon for 5 nights. From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be amazing! The reception staff were super brilliant. We were booked into the Du Maurier Suite which was absolute stunning! So much attention to detail has been put into the room! The views over the moors were absolutely amazing and the little seating area you have on your own little balcony was a brilliant touch. The food was extremely tasty both morning and evening. The full cooked breakfast with Cornish Hog’s Pudding was so good! A huge shout out and massive thanks goes to Tina from the morning staff who pushed us both into trying this breakfast delicacy. Tina and all of the morning staff were an absolute joy and always so welcoming. All of the evening staff again were just fantastic and the food superb. Thank you all so much for helping us create such amazing memories during our short stay in Cornwall. We will definitely be back! Vegetarian options: Good choice Parking: Ample parking
What a lovely little pub. Food was delicious couldn't fault my Gammon, egg and chips - pub classic. Love the quirkiness and history of this place. It has nice little nooks you can tuck yourself away in, as well as a proper restaurant. It also has a museum and shopclosed on our late arrival. My only issue was they need more help at the barwhich for the size of the place was tiny. I was stood in a very long line waiting over 20mins just to order drinks. The two staff were working as hard as they could but they needed just one extra person dedicated to drinks and not taking food orders. However despite this I would go again and recommend this place if your looking for a bite to eat as your travelling along the A30 in Cornwall. It is literally minutes off the A30, its very inviting and lovely as a stop!
Fantastic place to visit. The rooms are amazing and the food is simply great. A really nice meal and really well priced. Top marks to them and the staff have always been amazing. I can't recommend the place enough and we will be making more visits and staying over again in the future.
Loved the room and atmosphere of the Inn, I've taken off a mark as partner received a mint cocktail that genuinely tasted like it had lamb mint sauce put in which was not what she expected. The food was okay but think this could have been better. Really loved the museum and gift shop on site.
We have visited before for a cream tea. We stayed for a night this time to celebrate our anniversary. Had dinner, beautiful food, plentiful and well cooked. Compliments to the chef. Lovely waiting staff. Great stay overnight. Very comfortable room. Whole place is very atmospheric. Gorgeous breakfast. Plenty to choose from. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Made our day all the more memorable.
Remember you come for the building..... The burger was really nice, my wife's pie was good, but the vegetables had lost colour and seen better days. But the food was tasty, but the price is a heavy one. The building is quite picturesque with old beams and artifacts dotted about. It's very interesting. I can imagine it gets incredibly busy during the tourist season.
Popped in yesterday afternoon on way home from Cornwall. As always, an absolute delightful Sunday Roast. It was very busy, but they seated the 6 of us. Highly recommended, in fact my husband and I occasionally drive an hour and half from our Dorset home for lunch. Great pub Vegetarian options: The Nutroast was plentiful Parking: Ample parking
This is the most dog friendly hotel we have every been to! Our room had two bowls, a big cushion and a gift bag all for the dog ! Our pup loved it. Generally the room was really well thought through, comfy bed, kettle, tea, coffee, squash, biscuits, TV with lots of channels. The pub was lovely and cosy, lots of great stories and notes on the famous and infamous history of the place. All the staff were super helpful and very dog friendly. There was so much to do! A big gift shop, a farm shop, a museum. And a big field where dogs can run around. Again so dog friendly!
Great service. Food lovely. Fascinating place looking at all the pictures on wall. They have farm shop and gift shop. Love the atmosphere here. A good stop off place even if just for a coffee. Parking: Lots of parking Wheelchair accessibility: All on the flat so easy for wheelchairs etc.
Decided to pop in for a drink as I was passing and decided to order lunch once I saw some of the other meals coming out. The fish and chips were absolutely stunning with the best mushy peas I’ve ever had. Staff were clearly very busy but we’re still extremely helpful and service was still very quick. If you’re going for the gift shop and museum, make sure to check opening times as the gift shop was closed. I would highly recommend visiting even if it’s just for a quick drink and I look forward to coming back very soon!
