Came here for a lovely Sunday roast with my grandparents and the food did not disappoint. I ordered roast pork belly with all the trimmings and it was delicious, the pork was moist with the crackliest of crackling and well complimented by the roasted veg and gravy. The generous portion sizes left us very satisfied however we were unable to continue our meal into dessert as the service was slow and we had to cancel our icecream and brownies in the end. Aside from that one small set back it was a great lunch in a beautiful setting and we shall be returning
We were accommodated for a lunch for 20 of us after a baptism and the pub did a great job. Food was absolutely delicious. Service with a smile and everyone was happy. Nice vibe out in the conservatory too. Light and bright. Kid-friendliness: Great kids play area
Loved this place! Very homey decor, amazing staff and the food was just brilliant. On that evening they had as a special duck with dauphiniose potatoes and it been just excelent! For a dessert I had Eton Mess which again was absolutely delightful! Definitely wanna go back and maybe try their pizzas! Keep it up, guys!
Highly recommend. Good food, lovely setting but above all it's the excellent and friendly service that's sets this place apart. Chose this for a meal with family visiting from the USA and they loved it. Leanne looking after us and having a good laugh - thanks
Really off the beaten track, so you won't find this Restaurant unless you're out walking, cycling etc, however, a beautiful setting & surrounding. The Restaurant has Tons of Character and Atmosphere. The Staff were full of genuine smiles, attentive, professional, friendly and Fun. Thoroughly recommendable!!
We booked our table a few weeks in advance as there were a group of eleven. We were told we would be in the conservatory and asked if it would be cold and was reassured it wouldn’t be so went ahead with our booking. On arrival we asked for a highchair and waited twenty minutes for our f order to be taken we had to ask for it to be taken in the end and the waitress rudely said ‘in a minute’, asking for the kids food to come out at the same time as adults starters. When the adult starters arrived, I asked again for a highchair and it finally appeared along with a very slow dribble of the kids food - one of which we did have to chase! Once we had finished starters, mains were slow to come out. Throughout the course of our meal the sliding door was constantly being opened and sometimes being left open by the waiting staff, making it very cold! Perhaps they need a sign on the door to say ‘keep closed’ in the end I ate my roast in my coat! We asked for the gas fire to be popped on, but they didn’t have a gas cylinder! The final poor level of service was when we asked if we could order dessert and were told with no apology that they had another table coming in in 15 minutes and we need to go so they can clear it. Wouldn’t of been a problem if we had booked short notice, or been told when we arrived - perhaps if we didn’t have to wait so long to order food and it came out promptly it wouldn’t of been an issue. All in all rubbish and rude service, food not bad but eating a roast when you can’t feel your feet is disappointing!
Scrumptious food in a warm and friendly pub/restaurant. We all enjoyed every aspect of the meal. When an option wasn't available on the menu the staff offered a free upgrade with advice. The Christmas decorations were stunning and seeing the outside all covered in frost set a romantic wintery location. Parking: Easy to park.
Lovely cosy place to have a nice dinner.
Lovely meal. My mum said it was the best fish and chips that she's had in years. Staff were friendly. Has a really nice sheltered outdoor space, with plenty of seats.
Really nice looking pub hidden away down a quiet road and surrounded by woodland. Lots of walks nearby, and very dog friendly. There is a nice covered seating area outside but needed to book, so just was on the grass area. The inside was a lot smaller than expected, and the drinks were a little rushed such as no lime in the rum and coke and small amount of ice.
