Had a 2 night stay here, had a wait of 18 months to get the room, worth the wait, we loved it, lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, nothing was to much trouble, special mention to the two boys that were waiters 11/12 Nov, really well mannered and polite. Food was lovely, quite a few vegetarian options, breakfast was amazing, we will. defiately return again. Also car park to the rear. Loads of nice walks nearby.
Absolutely loved our stay here. We booked all 3 rooms and it was well worth the 6 month wait! We went on a semi-serious ghost hunt and even as a sceptic I can honestly say that I can not explain some of the happenings! Top tip, take touch sensitive, light up cat toy balls! The service from initial inquiry right through to breakfast the next morning was outstanding, we were made to feel very welcome. Great value for money and a great atmosphere, fully recommended! Rooms: Clean and tidy with appropriate furnishings for the location, loved the 4 poster beds. The rooms were larger than we were expecting Food & drinks: Lovely pub meal, great breakfast rolls, perfect for what we needed.
Beautiful pub, great staff, lovely food. The barmaid Angela was lovely. Not easy to get an overnight stay we had a couple of months wait but so worth it. If you like a spooky night, this is the place. Room 2 was fantastic. Will be booking again.Rooms: 5/5
Popped in for a meal and drink. The oldest pub in Wales has an interesting history and seems to be very popular with the locals. We enjoyed our meals. Good atmosphere.Service: 4/5
The Oldest Inn in Wales, apparently. Comprehensive menu of 'pub favourites' at a reasonable price. Generous portions of very good food - freshly cooked and arrived promptly. Good range of ales. Tea and coffee also available
I have visited this Inn before, it has a lovely atmosphere and a great place for ghost believers. Food is tasty, big open fireplace, friendly local community. Staff is helpful and welcoming. Two young lads served the food. Well done on you. Thanks for having us.Service: 5/5
Had a lovely Sunday Roast dinner here with the family to celebrate my birthday. We all enjoyed the food, the grandchildren 10, 3 and 2 years were made to feel welcome too, it is a lovely place to take the family.
What a lovely place to visit so very friendly and you are able wonder around and see all it has to offer. I rated the rooms at a four star only because the guest rooms are closed ready for guests so couldn't see inside, but definitely going back. Thank you allRooms: 4/5
Our meal at the Skirrid was fabulous. Chickpea and sweet potato curry was tasty and great quality for a pub. The steak and ale pie was also delicious and the portion was large. There was a roaring fire and the customer service was 10/10. The story of the skirrid inn was helpfully declared on the walls of the pub.
Lovely pub with fire and nice atmosphere. Sunday lunch was absolutely superb, highly recommend. Will be back.Service: 4/5
