New Steak House in Preston!! Cook your own at the table. Excellent flavour from 28day Aberdeen Angus beef, choice of Sirloin, Ribeye and Fillet with Steak Chips and Mushrooms on the side.Food: 5/5
First time visitors tonight. This is a great restaurant to go as a couple, with family, friends or solo. A large venue, which when busy, will have a great atmosphere. I went with my partner, although there were only 4 other couples, the place felt relaxed and comfortable. We agreed that the food was the best we have tasted in quite some time....and we often visit different Indian restaurants. Service was good, no delays, friendly approachable staff too & female waitress. Live music events are held with inclusive dinner. Discounts on their Facebook page are available. Takeaway service is also available, again with offers and free delivery within a 4 mile radius. We will certainly be going again. Compliments to the chef here!... This restaurant is easy to drive past. It is in a small complex along with Lidl, Sally's & Fab Home Interiors & within half a mile of Preston Porche Centre... what a day out you could have!!. Restaurant address:..The Silk Route - 4 West Strand, Strand Rs, Preston, PR1 8UY. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Vegetarian options: Quorn Massala with pilau rice , pictured. Other dishes available. Dietary restrictions: Discuss with staff prior to ordering. Parking: Large ground floor, free car park to accommodate the restaurant and a small number of other outlets. Includes disabled and parent/ child spaces. Wheelchair accessibility: All on ground level with accessible doors to the restaurant.
Went for the Sunday buffet. Room is elegant, lovely sofas, seated quickly, as only 4 other tables in. Lots of empty serving dishes, weird combination of Indian and Chinese dishes - red curry thai, sesame chicken chinese samosas indian spring rolls chinese. Multiple varients on "chips". Veg pakora like chewy rubber after sitting so long on the plate. HORRIFIED to find prawn crackers in place of poppadoms! This is a basic. We were told we could order food that had run out on the buffet, but then the bloke vanished and the only other person on the restaurant floor didn't understand English well. When the freshly prepared chicken tikka arrived it was excellent, so perhaps it's only the buffet that's appalling. Overall, mad expensive for not-very-good experience. Do fewer dishes and do them better.
1st visit large group of friends, when requested a Menu informed Buffet only 1pm-4pm. Starter's consisted of a mix of Chinese food aswell- Prawn crackers but no poppadoms, yet staff member was walking round eating poppadom. Lot's of variety various meat/veg Curry's all cooked well, but all very mild. I thought all the buffet was very basic in taste not really seasoned very well using different spices to give a better strength in taste. Maybe the Menu on an evening/other days is better, but for the Sunday Buffet it's nothing brilliant for the price you pay £15..When I questioned desserts & prices & requested a Menu, staff member was avoiding this & stated they'll have to check the price. I wouldn't say this is the best Indian restaurant at all, polite respectful staff, but it would suit families who don't like too spicy food.
Have previously had a take away when we had friends round and was looking forward to the food. Went with friends to an Elvis tribute night last night. Entertainment was fab and we had a very good night. Unfortunately the food was not as excellent as I had expected from our previous experience. Perhaps this may have been because of the numbers being catered for on the set menu - the food was sadly bland lacking in flavours that you come to expect from this cuisine. We also waited quite some time before our order was taken and between starters and main. We paid £32.00 per person plus drinks but the entertainment was included and well worth it
Wow wow wow what a takeaway. Everything was spot on, so tasty and cooked to perfection. Lovely venue although closed due to Covid but still doing takeaways. Very friendly nice owners and a big choice of dishes. Even made me up my own bespoke starter selection and a main for my mate that wasn't on the menu. I will be 100% returning the next time I'm in Preston. Take a bow Silk Route you have an amazing restaurant
A Disgraceful Display of Racism and Abuse I am compelled to share my experience at Silk route Indian restaurant, where I witnessed appalling behaviour towards the staff, particularly my friend’s father, who was subjected to racist insults and abuse during our visit. This establishment not only failed in its duty to provide a pleasant dining experience but actively condoned discrimination and harassment. The incident involving my friends father was despicable and completely unacceptable. No one should endure such treatment, especially in a place that claims to offer hospitality. It is disgraceful that management allowed this behavior to occur unchecked, tarnishing the reputation of the restaurant irreparably. Moreover, the food and service were overshadowed by the toxic atmosphere perpetuated by the staff's behavior. The lack of respect for customers and fellow employees is indicative of deeper cultural issues within the establishment. I strongly urge potential patrons to reconsider supporting a business that fosters such toxicity and hatred. Discrimination has no place in any workplace, let alone one that serves the public. Until there is a significant change in management and policies, I cannot in good conscience recommend Silk route Indian restaurant to anyone.
Food was so tasty, big portion sizes and staff were lovely. Will definitely be coming back!Food: 5/5
Ordered delivery which arrived 90 minutes after ordering. Came barely warm and very dry obviously been sat on warming plate awaiting delivery. Extremely disappointing.
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING RESTAURANT!!!! DO NOT VISIT. This foul restaurant hires employees and verbally torments and abuses them. Their treatment of staff is extremely unethical and they treat them as if they are slaves, they overwork them to the point of literal mental and physical torture. My father was employed by this restaurant for a week, he is a kind, peaceful and calm mannered man who just needed a stable job to support a family and put food on the table. The rude employer and the employers wife who was even worse treated him as if he was nothing, as if he was of no value at all. They then sacked him, for God knows whatever reason, my father is competent and has been in the restaurant industry for over 3 decades, but has never worked at an organisation that treats their employees with such less respect. If you want to keep supporting this kind of behaviour and maltreatment, then continue to dine here, but if you agree that it is completely unacceptable, do not give them any of your business! They might seem nice and friendly to your face, but what goes on behind closed doors is quite frankly inhumane, my poor father was left mental issues and has to take rest from working just because of what this business put him through. This business is going to be reported and they will be dealt with accordingly.
