We had a very good meal here, the food is excellent and the staff are lovely. Thank you.
Not been for nearly 5 years and was pleasantly surprised. Due to change of management some time ago The Shampan has gone from zero to hero. The food was excellent and value for money and the staff are friendly and attentive. Very impressed so much so that we booked for Xmas day. Well done to chef and all the staff.
Tremendous food and service. Welcoming and friendly that you can have a laugh with. Speedy and quality service. Will definitely recommend and go again. They have an amazing offer that's 6 courses for £12.95 if I remember correctly and it makes the drinks half price!
I've given this 3 stars because I do enjoy takeaways from here, but on the occasions I've sat in, the service has been really bad. There were one or two waiters who just seemed to have a bad attitude. I tried ordering a paratha, and was told that it was too much effort for the chef to make, which was bewildering. This was also after they tried to push the 8 course menu onto us, which despite being good value, would've been way too much for me to manage. There were some staff, however who were genuinely lovely, polite, friendly and were a credit to the place, but the dining in experience was overshadowed by the difficult ones. As stated previously, the food is excellent, and I still get takeaways from here.
Enjoyable meal good company and atmosphere I'd go again
Food was lovely but the hygiene at this restaurant was atrocious! We had to be moved 3 times due to insects running all over our table and cutlery, the first table they moved us to was over run with even more insects at which point the only place they could move us to was the middle of the room which had the same problem as before, we tried to carry on with our meal but it wasn't long until we had then crawling all over our naan and rice! When I brought this up with who I assume to be the manager he shrugged us off and told us he will take £10 of our bill to which I refused. He stood and argued with us for a further 10m which involved telling my partner to be quiet and to just pay and leave. It's a shame that the poor hygiene and poor customer service ruin this restaurant as the food was just lovely! I just wonder what the kitchen is like after this experience...
Lovely place. Made very welcome. The lighting in the place is impressive, and to be honest, then food was the best Indian food I've ever had at an Indian restaurant. Very very pleased and will definitely come again. Visited on 30th August 2016. Brilliant. Thanks for a great evening.
Great food and plenty of it. Fantastic prices and we were treated like royalty. Will be going back 17 Jul 2014. Came back again this afternoon. Great food and fantastic service. Dont know what the other reviewer is talking about when they say bad service. The staff here could not be nicer.
Another nice meal at the Shaman after a day away. Unfortunately this time it was spoiled by a large group of guys who were drunk and very noisy. This meant that we had to shout at each other to be heard. Not the restaurant"s fault but soured the evening for us even though the food and price were good.
Friendly service and welcoming staff. Food a little inconsistent. Sometimes good but other times a generic British Indian Restaurant gravy with meat. Come on guys - I know you can make it authentic
