A great place to eat, drink and have sumptuous meals, especially steaks. The staffs are extremely pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. The service is fast and meal served at the right temperature. There’s outdoor seating and great ambience in the summer months. The pub is dog friendly and there’s ample parking space at this rural location.
Went for a celebration meal and was super impressed. We decided to go for the roast for two which was simply superb. Although slightly on the expensive side, you got a really good portion size and the quality was immense. Also had some of the new cocktails which were just simply delicious. Would highly recommend
Amazing food! Very attentive staff especially will he was very knowledgable and friendly. Will be back 100% for more mouth watering steak 850g next time
Awesome chicken roast, the rest at the table raved about the steak, great sourdough bread starter, and the sides we enjoyed were the Mac & cheese & creamed spinach. Wasn't a huge fan of the hash side. The sticky toffee pudding was the big pudding winner; I was disappointed in the plum crumble too liquidy and not crumbled enough. Reservations recommended!
Very disappointed. 6 of us spent a Combined £600 tab. Was asked to give the table up after an hour and a half. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Got our drinks order and food constantly wrong. Awful service which was a shame as the food was good all be it very expensive. £18 for the cheese board which had 3 very small bits of cheese. When we complained and sent it back was told that we had to pay still. Hi, Thank you very much for your prompt reply in looking into this issue. I believe some of the points you have raised also do not line up. Firstly, the first items loaded on to our tab was myself and my girlfriend ordering our own drinks at the bar, so I wouldn’t call this “table service”. I suggest you look at when the food was added to the bill as this was a significant time later. 1 round of drinks was missing ,correct. However, 1 drink was given also incorrectly which you have missed off. In terms of the cheese, we appreciate you taking the cheese off the bill however, this was not done as a good will gesture as we had to ask 2 times that we would not pay for it. I also appreciate your point of “quality over quantity” but 3 slices of cheese which wouldn’t fit in a sandwich is not worth £18. We did take a photo of you wish to see this? We were asked to leave the table at 8:15 when the last drink was purchased at 8:12pm and didn’t receive until after we were warned to leave the table. So this drink was not finished. We fully understand tables are booked after people’s booking but this should be given prior warning not 15 mins. As we were leaving the restaurant was very empty so was confused why we were asked to leave. As you probably saw we had a young child with us which takes longer than 15 mins to get organised to leave. Sadly, as a table of 3 seperate families we will not be returning due to this experience. We expected better customer service and an apology but seems none of the above was given. On the plus side, the food when arrived was of high quality. Seems as which you are lacking the service to match. My initial response of your reply has shocked me so I am debating posting this exeperience on social media, just so you are aware. Regards
Been here several times. Been here for end of year celebrations with 100 colleagues as well as for a lunch and a casual drink. Always good food and good drinks. But every time the prices go higher.
With friends over from Australia we wanted to take them somewhere nice to celebrate their wedding anniversary. As Sean and I had eaten at The Shurlock Inn a few times previously this is where we took our friends on Wednesday of this week. An absolutely amazing evening was spent, the food exceptional, as always with very attentive and accommodating staff. Cally, Ollie and Isabelle... what a team! We could not have been served better. Everyone enjoyed the food immensely so my husband made a point of telling the chefs Pete, Gabriel and Diego. We will definitely be returning again, and again. 100% recommend a visit.
We had an absolutely delightful lunch here. Fantastic setting, especially outside. Service was very friendly and attentive. Food was very good and the cuts of meat excellent and very satisfying. We would definitely recommend!
Absolutely incredible food, served in a stylish, trendy country pub setting. It's tucked away in the middle of nowhere but gets busy so I'd recommend booking in advance. They have superb regular live music acts playing here also.
We recently had Sunday lunch at The Shurlock Inn following its reopening after Lockdown. Simply fantastic!! We were meet as soon as we walked in by manager who was really friendly and genuinely excited to be welcoming guests again. The garden looks great, there were heaters and we noticed plenty of blankets for when the temp drops. The waiting staff were equally great but it was the Roast Beef that was the star of the day! Perfectly cooked and utterly delicious. We cant wait to go back again. Thanks to all the team - its great to be back!
