Proper naughty old boozer! The real ale gem of Reading! Real life wizards as well!

An ickle pub with big beer selection. Less of the more modern beers and more of the traditional British styles, but they do have a variety including a few weird and wonderfuls. Great place to sit in the sun and people watch out front or sit in one of the atmospheric little nooks.

A very pleasant real ale pub. I am happy to report I drank far too much here on Christmas Eve. Lovely beer. Good company. Nice staff. My kind of pub. Lots of wainscoting and snugs. It might be the law that CAMRA members have to drink here.

Nice town centre boozer. Good selection of well-kept ales, friendly staff and a pleasant place to go for a drink. Decor quite basic I like that and probably not the place to take someone on a first date!

They claim to have served over 9,000 different beers here so for the beer lover it is close to heaven on earth. Well worth paying it a visit, but be warned, if your sort of place is an 'All Bar One' The Alehouse has avoided a makeover and is unique, quirky and very basic.

Fantastic pub in Reading town centre. 7 cask ales and at least 2 keg craft beers. Traditional looking interior. Beers in excellent condition.
