We went out for dinner last night The Green Man in Hurst and it was a really lovely! We took our German Shepherd and sat in the garden for an evening meal. Stunning freshly prepared food, the steak and kidney pie was sublime, hubby had the fish and chips, said it was the best he'd had. The staff were fabulous, attentive, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I'm so pleased we were recommended and it will certainly be our ' go to' meal out now. Thanks to The Green Man team
Friendly staff, happy to make menu recommendations and really accommodating. We got a selection of nibbles as a shared starter, all really tasty. The venison scotch egg with a runny yolk was a particular highlight! Did note limited range of non-alcoholic adult drinks only Heineken 0 so car drivers stuck to soft drinks. Unfortunately we were so stuffed from our starters and mains that we didnt get to sample the pudding menu but there was plenty that peaked my interest! Will be returning!
Wow. How refreshing to go to a pub and get such great staff and food so soon after a change in management. The boss had a Chicken Roast, and it was really nice, chicken was perfectly tender. I had a lovely burger, chips and coleslaw. Prices might put some off, but you must try. A new play area will be installed soon too. Guinness was perfect too, more importantly!
Absolutely delicious! We haven't been since there was a change in management. The staff, chef, food, atmosphere was all excellent. We loved this place for years, and am pleased that we continue to do so.
Cosy pub with outside area suitable for children. Good food. My son enjoyed creating his own pizza - beef & prawn!
We went here for lunch. They only had one chef in that day, so there was longer wait than usual. We sat in the garden, which was nice. The fish and chips we had was also good.
Charming and quaint beamed pub in a quiet location. Ample parking with plenty of seats for alfresco dining. Well kept Breakspear beer . A menu to suit most tastes at reasonable prices..
Wow, new management are truly amazing. They are working so hard to making this place the number 1. Service is amazing and friendly, food is awesome, can wait to see them reach the stars. Well done everyone
Always had great meals there but chef left. Poor chap running it is trying to run his own pub so left with difficult job. Vegetables rock hard; those who had roasts had black potatoes and parsnips. Cherry tarts all had rock hard burnt pastry. Staff brilliant. Just hope new chefs can do better as we love going there and will go back next year. Hope head chef gets to grips with things, once employed! Will try it out once in place.
Lovely pub!! Wide range of food delicious desserts and plenty of different drinks to choose from! The pub has a massive garden with benches to sit on and also in the garden there is a kid's play area.
