As soon as we walked in we received a warm welcome from the bar lady. She was friendly and personable which you don't often get. Had soup and warmed bread which was perfect on a cold December Saturday with snow outside. Young waitress was polite and sweet. Manager also made us feel welcome and so glad we visited the pub. Will definitely go back. Good value for money and a relaxed friendly atmosphere
Great three night stay here for my wife and I, from 21st Nov.2022, on our way back to Scotland from short family visit. Warmly greeted on arrival and shown our room which was compact as expected and very tidy.Had a lovely meal here first night. Everyone very attentive and pleasant. At breakfast each morning, a lovely young lady named Abbi? Made sure we had a good selection including a full cooked breakfast. She was good humoured and again very attentive, nothing was any trouble. A pleasure to spend time here. 4* rate from me only because the entrance arch to parking is very tight, again, as highlighted by the owners. Just managed my s- max with mirrors in. Overall a great place to stay, with wonderful people. Would stay again.
Popped in with family for a quick pint before Dinner. Lovely staff, friendly welcome and lovely setting. The menu looked very good and would love to try it in a future visit. The draft beers were well kept and served nicely.
Stopped in for a meal. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Pub was clean and homely, dog friendly and had football on the TV for the other half. Food was amazing. Vegan curry was delicious. Will visit again when we are in the area.Service: 5/5
Stopped by for lunch. Half the menu was off, even the specials for which the flyers were still on the tables. Eventually managed to pick something they had available. Soup and sandwich was OK but a chicken burger had soggy chicken coating and chunky chips of the tasteless variety. Decent pint of real ale and it wasn't freezing cold unlike most pubs at the moment.
Lovely staff, room was warm and cosy, really comfy bed. Lots of items available on the breakfast menu. The entrance might be a challenge if you have a large 4x4 or people carrier but parking is available near-by. Brewery arts centre within easy reach.
warmly welcomed nice pub thiught all was good servants and workers very nice was a lad serving us very welcoming but the food we had i wouldn’t even call edible ordered minted lamb which was slimy and full of fat and wasn’t even slightly minted we also ordered a chicken burger which was undercooked and also slimy very nice pub awful food
Not one for eating many burgers, I decided to treat myself and the food here was delicious. Our party all said the same. I mentioned this to the gent behind the bar and he said "Tell the world" and I said I would, so here I am doing just that. Food & drinks: See above comments.
Very standard pub grub - maybe a bit too basic. Landlord and Lady pleasant. Service was pretty good.Service: 4/5
