I had an excellent sea bass fillet dish. Good varied menu, vegetarian dish was great.Coffee was ok. Be aware its full of restaurant tables and no other indoor space, so need to book on busy nights. Lovely staff and dog friendly.

We booked a meal here prior to our Christmas do down the road. The reputation of this pub is good and often it has been difficult to get in but to be fair - I wasn't that impressed. The food was good but the waitresses had the habit of serving from one end of the table thereby leaning over everyone with dishes etc. which I personally don't think is acceptable. I'm not going to be harsh on the place as that's not really deserved but neither would I be in a hurry to go back.

Food is generally good to excellent. Beer usually pretty good. Tends to quieten down later in the evening and bar often closes without warning at 10.30 during the week which is a shame, otherwise an excellent local.

Some years since I've been here so I wasn't sure what to expect. Went with a long-standing friend for a chatty lunch. I had the baby squid in coriander with chorizo, lime & aioli as a starter. Perfectly à point with lovely tender squid and beautifully flavourful aioli; no flavours too strong and all working together. Also had the black garlic chicken kiev. Whilst lacking the great flavours of the squid it was beautifully cooked. Shared a cheeseboard to finish which was great. Not served too cold, The chutney was strong on nutmeg. Very pleasant pinot noir accompanied.

Good reasonabley priced food and a good selection of beer. Add good service and atmosphere, what more could you want?
