The Sandpiper

Story

The Sandpiper was originally a farmhouse called Holly Farm. It has only recently been converted into the pub restaurant that you see today. The surrounding area is full of interesting history, the town of Bickerstaffe being an important local centre for the Quakers of West Lancashire.
A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Best fish and chips I've had in ages! We love this pub. It has a really relaxed atmosphere. My husband had a burger which he thoroughly enjoyed and our daughter was very impressed with her pasta. Apparently it was better than mine Jacqueline sorry if I've spelt your name wrong was a really attentive server, couldn't fault her. We had a nice chat with Amy too, who was incredibly welcoming. We'll definitely be back.
It was quiet when we visited. Service was quick and staff really friendly. The food was very good. Steak was cooked to perfection.Food: 5/5
The food was very tasty. We had the Sunday roasts. The staff were friendly and helpful, bringing the meals pretty quickly and clearing away the dirty dishes once we were all finished. They checked consistently that we were ok and if we needed anything else. Thank you for a pleasant visit for a birthday meal.
Went last Monday. The food was amazing, really tasty and came quickly after ordering. I also felt that it was value for money in terms of quality and portion size compared with other restaurants in the area. The staff were really helpful and attentive. Our server was Ross who recommended so items and obviously had a real knowledge of the menu when we told him what we liked. I felt like he couldn’t have been more attentive and we never went without a drink for more than 5 minutes which was great. Will be coming again and would definitely recommend.
Food was delicious, the fish and chips was huge and really well cooked! Staff were polite and helpful and the young man who brought us the check gave us our drinks on the house because he said we were a nice family! Went here for a family meal. It took approx 25mins before the drinks order was taken. The food was ok,nothing special. I Counted 10 chips on my son's plate that was after making sure it was a big portion for a child. Won't be going back anytime soon.Food: 3/5

Handy location just off the motorway, stopped in for food after a long journey. Nice pub, good selection of beers. Good quality food and friendly service think his name was Ross. Will definitely be back to make use of the voucher after signing up to the app too!Food: 5/5
