Enjoyable walk, from Maghull, to enjoy lunch here at the Derby Arms. Excellent choice of Ales, friendly, helpful staff and excellent food. Well worth visiting.
A small intimate pub that I very much enjoy. Locals are friendly and staff are amazing. Food is incredible. It is homemade and a defiante place you can define it as mums cooking. It isn’t expensive and food is tasty. Big portion sizes. Just wish I could fit a pudding in!
If you like home cooked food and not one but two log fires and staff that dont talk down to you but really talk then these is the place to go amazing place and the food is really home cooked food. On my way out they was a staff member walking a little old lady to here car and making sure she was all ok before going back in to the pub. I will be back these is my new best place to go, one more think 2 meals ,coffee and cheese cake for under 20 pound amazing.
Unfortunately seated near entrance as it was chocker so a bit breazy at times! Lack of staff and slow service, however, staff that did serve us were friendly and helpful. The mains were lovely but pudding was a bit standard and custard of the powdered variety hence the dropping of one star.
Not an inspiring menu but why does it need to be quality home cooking with generous portions and at a reasonable price . Access from the road is easy as parking also a good example of what is becoming an endangered species “ A good country pub”.
Had Sunday lunch and wasn't disappointed although can get very busy so advise booking first. Very friendly and helpful staff and a little play area and beer garden when weather permits. Recommended
Never had a bad meal!! Food is amazing. Service is spot on!!! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend it!!
Excellent food, with huge portions for the price. A nice cosy atmosphere with open fires and comfy couches. Staff were friendly and happy to help
Great place, especially so when the open fires are blazing. Food home cooked and plenty of it. Courteous, professional staff with a sense of humour ... All round winner
Nice little pub steeped in history, they make a very nice roast dinner, and probably use local produce, it was tremendous i will be back there some Sunday soon also nice ale too.
