Absolute best pub food for miles. Proper home cooked delicious quality pub food. Staff all so lovely, accommodating and friendly. If you’re looking for a cosy pub lunch this is your place! I had the cheese and onion pie and it was 10/10. Home cooked chips were also perfect Partner had the fish and chips and the cod tasted so fresh this is our new fave pub lunch xx
Best service I've had in a long time. Staff very attentive. Nothing too great. Food was excellent. Not a fan of chicken. But the salt and pepper chicken was
As we’re in the area for a period of time we’ve popped in previously for drinks and yesterday for food. Whilst limited guest ales available, what we had were excellent. We ordered fish pie, burger and a bottle of wine. It was really good. Best fish pie I’ve had. Great price, staff were friendly and organised. Will be hitting the Friday Chippy Tea night this week! UPDATE…. So we’ve done the chippy night a couple of times now and several visits in between and the food/beer and service is awesome. Thankyou.
Unexpectedly called here for Sunday lunch after we had a power cut in December! Staff were very friendly, atmosphere was nice, if a bit cold by the window. Food was good, can't complain!
Went for a bottle of wine ended up deciding to have food and wasn’t disappointed the food was brilliant and the service fantastic to the point went back again with a family member who has a gluten intolerance to which the food was amazing also. Would highly recommend this is a hidden gem in the country side perfect setting along the canal side.
The staff are so friendly and welcoming really lovely atmosphere great food. Portion sizes have gone down so much though! The fish and chips used to be massive and now is more like a child's portion.
I lovely pub on the canal. Inside is a large space with a main dining area and another bar/sitting area. A group of 4, all our meals were excellent! It was summer when we were there & the World Cup was on so they had a gazebo outside with a tv to show the games. Outside there are also lots of tables beside the canal to sit and enjoy your meal and the lovely views. Highly recommended, good for families.
had christmas dinner which was nice but the pub was freezing even though the heating was on. our feet were like ice. they have at least three open fires that were not lit, seven years ago ish it had a great atmosphere and the staff looked happier
A nice, medium sized pub right next to the Leeds - Liverpool canal. It's just off the main road so you can easily miss it if you don't know it's there. Serves a good quality Sunday roast and afterwards you can go for a walk either way along the canal. There's also a small play park outside and plenty of outdoor seating and tables for when the weather is good. But on a weekend in summer they will get very busy.
Called into The Ship for an evening meal. Staff were lovely & we really enjoyed the Friday night chippy tea menu……2 meals for £15 Food was great & the setting by the canal lovely & tranquil. Would highly recommend, we will be back
