Great local pub with board games and decent food. Daytime / early evening very kids friendly - and dog friendly, as you'd expect. They used to have a nice selection of burgers with different fillings egg, bacon, cheddar, stilton etc. but now they've cut back to just one plain cheeseburger American style cheese and it's a patty not a burger - which is basically grilled mince beef.nnThey're all the rage now apparently but I think it's just cost cutting and they're nowhere near as nice as a real burger imo.
First visit to Leamington, no idea what’s good and not so good. This was our second stop of the evening. Really busy bar with a range of ages in the clientele. Even so, served quickly and with a friendly smile. Decided to stay for some food. The poke bowl with teriyaki chicken was plentiful and tasty. Same for the chicken skewers. The batter on the fish and chips was slightly less crispy than I would have liked but tasty and fresh. Would definitely return.
Food was great, table seated the 8 of us well, but it was noisy, will a full table of sports fans beside us. Overall, a happy birthday celebration with my family.
The Royal Pug is a super accommodating and friendly atmosphere to be in!nnThe assistant manager Charlie and her team were incredibly helpful and nice.nnWe spent two days in the privately hired, upstairs function and nothing was too much for them!nnAmazing team and amazing venue!
We popped in for Lunch. It was very quiet but that made it nice and relaxing. The place is very nice inside with an Island bar. The drink selection looks plenty with own craft ales and high quality spirits. The food was very nice and well worth the money. Credits to the Chef. The toilets are very clean and the staff are all very nice and friendly. I would absolutely recommend eating here as well as popping in with mates for a few drinks. A credit to the Leamington Hospitality scene.
