Decided to check out this pub as friends recommended it. Went for a drink but the menu was irresistible so we decided to try something. Fabulous seafood starter platter and ditto charcuterie platter - as good as French! Such friendly helpful staff, lovely waitress described how we could get back to Eastbourne via main roads rather than the potholed lanes that the Garmin had taken us by. Definitely worth the trip to this beautiful place with such delicious food!

This is my local pub, and a year ago I would not have eaten here. Now I highly recommend it. I booked a table last Saturday night for 3 of us with my finger's crossed, wow we were not disappointed. My nephew and me had the steak burgers, fantastic, perfectly cooked, better than the wheel Inn. The 3rd member had bangers and mash, which she said was the best she had ever had. It is a must try. I will be back to eat there without a shadow of a doubt.

I dined at The Rose & Crown celebratin my brother's birthday and received a lovely welcome. I like a beer that is not overly hoppy or bitter and was offered a taste of one that was just right first time, thank you. We choose some olives, bread and humous while wrestled with a good menu. My companions plumbed for Venison Steaks and Seafood Platters, while I went for the Pork Belly. Everybody comented how enjoyable each was. The pudding unfortunately did not live up to the description, not tasting of Bailey's or chocolate and only the suggestion of Brulleè.

Amazing food, the French owner is very friendly and welcoming. Had great home made pie. But got refused on the next day for drink by a very rude and uneducated bar tender.
