We spent two nights here last week. Wish we could have stayed longer. Michael and David were great hosts.Rooms: 5/5
Wonderful house, inside and out. And absolutely the four best breakfasts we've ever had. Michael is a great host and a great cook. Easy walk to the docks and restaurants.Rooms: 5/5
My favorite Bed & Breakfast so far. Micheal & David are wonderful host. The services is perfect. The breakfast was marvelous. It really exceeds Bed & Breakfast standards. We bike the trail from Halifax to Lunenburg and stop at Pelham house for a perfect stay. Location is ideal, close to the trail and to the town restaurant, waterfront....
We had a lovely 2 night and enjoyed our time. Hosts are fantastic. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Coffee was the absolute best! Street parking only which wasn’t a problem for us. Rooms: Lovely rooms in a beautiful historic house. Nearby activities: Close to all the attractions Walkability: Easy walk to interesting sites
All the 5 star reviews on Pelham House were spot on! An absolutely beautiful home, attended to with great care by its gracious hosts, Michael, David and Harry! The breakfasts were amazing! They accommodated food allergies and preferences, were flexible with check in times, and were real ambassadors for this lovely town of Lunenburg! Already looking to book again for the fall!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pelham House! Michael and David are both very hospitable and the mood of the house is very convivial. We chose room 4, which has a lovely private patio with a table and 4 Adirondack chairs to relax in. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. One of its features is a nice view of the Lunenburg harbour. It's nicely decorated with a nautical theme perfectly suited to the Lunenburg area. The common area consists of a very cozy sitting room where a port decanter is laid out every evening which is perfect to read and relax - and maybe play a board game - and a lovely breakfast room. Speaking of breakfasts... wow! Our dietary requirements and preferences, and those of the other guests, were juggled, and every morning yielded a delicious surprise prepared with loving care. To put this in context, our next stop was a 4 star hotel in Halifax and its breakfasts paled in comparison! We can't say enough about the warm welcome and how happy we were in what rapidly became our home away from home. We'll certainly be back and we heartily recommend this B&B to all. Thanks guys!
David and Michael are absolutely wonderful humans and hosts. They had makeup wipes available and dark coloured washcloths for makeup. The coffee and tea station placed upstairs was wonderful so we could have our caffeine before breakfast. The space is immaculate and always smelled wonderful! It was quiet and we had wonderful sleeps. I have a dairy allergy and breakfasts at BnBs can get repetitive with… oatmeal to accommodate. They took the time to ensure that I could have the same breakfast as everyone else, which for a while made me forget I had an allergy. Honestly when retire from the BnB they should definitely create a cookbook of their breakfast recipes! We stayed in room three which had a view of the homes in the front and a separate sitting room. We loved having the well appointed sitting room to have a chat in the evening when we weren’t quite ready for bed. The home is also very sturdy- we are noise sensitive people and we never heard other guests In the home while we were in our room and the road is very quiet in the evening. The location is perfect, we walked all over lunenburg, but were able to get away from the hustle and bustle when we wanted. Without a doubt our stay at the Pelham House has been the best bed and breakfast experience we have ever had.
Michael and David are absolutely fabulous hosts. Very friendly and helpful. The house has a lot of character with spacious and clean rooms. Breakfast is superb and all home made including jams. They accommodated a last minute schedule change without a hassle or extra costs. One of the best places I stayed at.
Honestly, if I could give them a 5.5 stars, I would. My husband and I stayed at the Pelham House in early September and we absolutely loved our stay. David and Michael and Harry were wonderful hosts and it was quite obvious that they loved their home and having guests stay over. I noticed a lot of little attentions that are not always obvious such as the complementary glass of port in the living room/boudoir, the fresh flowers on the dining room table, the power bar in the bedrooms, the pretty dinnerware and glassware etc etc. A lot of little details. Being surrounded by antique items and furniture in this beautiful home was wonderful. The rooms were very spacious, the beds were very comfortable. Not a speck of dust to be seen. The breakfast was WAY beyond what I would have expected at any B&B. The fact that both Michael and David spoke English as well as French was a pleasant "bonus" for us : Overall, there is no question we will return to Pelham House if we ever have the opportunity.
If you want to feel right at home in Lunenburg then the Pelham House B&B is the place to stay. Extremely clean, most delicious well presented breakfast and attention to little details made our stay memorable. David and Micheal took time to sit down and share the history of their ship captain’s house. I will definitely be staying there on my next trip to Lunenburg.
