We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. The food was cooked perfectly and the flavours brilliant. In particular the service from Gerda and Annalise was outstanding. They made our visit enjoyable and would highly recommend the restaurant.
Really enjoyed our afternoon tea. I have never been before and was pleasantly surprised how nice everything was from the atmosphere, food, and service. I lost the card with our servers name, but he was lovely and made our visit special. I know it started with a D Demarious?!! Thank you for a lovely afternoon tea!Food: 4/5
Visited in a couple for Sunday lunch which had been bought for us as a gift. Staff were welcome and explained everything. It’s defo slightly more formal than I like personally, but that’s only my preference. I like a relaxed feel. Food was 10/10 and service was excellent but not rushed. The parking at the hotel is very convenient and it’s close the Deansgate. Would recommend
FABULOUS. Food gorgeous. Staff are so lovely especially Denilson who really looked after us. Very relaxed atmosphere. The terrace outside was great, we sat there before and after our meal. Already booked to go back. We went for a walk over the bridge too. Parking: Park in Hotel car park. Spend over £30. Parking is Free.
We visited for the vegan afternoon tea. TL;DR: don’t. We arrived & were greeted politely by front of house who asked to take our coats - this is as there was no coat storage near the seats. If you do this, get a ticket as it later took FoH 10 minutes to find our coats. We rang twice previously to ensure we would get the vegan option only & were presented with a vegan menu. When we ordered drinks, the waitress forgot the milk for the breakfast tea and brought dairy milk later. When we ordered the meal, the waiter Denilson asked if there were any problems with the menu or any allergies, no the menu is fine - vegan written all over it - and 1 peanut allergy. When the food arrived it wasn’t vegan. I had to ask the waiter what was this grey stuff inside the sandwich? It was tuna. He almost seemed angry that we weren’t pleased with this - it’s been 8 years vegan and we ordered specifically off the vegan menu - and took all the items away, speaking to FoH as he went. The replacement meal arrived a good half hour later, it seems we were bumped to the bottom of the queue for their mistake. When the food arrived, the inside of the sandwiches were cold - refrigerated meal-deal style - and there was a thin layer of dust on the afternoon tea tiered tray. I didn’t complain because I already felt we were on thin ice with the staff. They offer refills on the coffee and tea but the coffee honestly tastes like filter coffee or something. The cakes were nice but I appreciate a quality savoury spread, which this wasn’t. The scones were nice but plain with no raisins. I assume this is so they can easily tell the difference from non vegan scones which had raisins we were given them before. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I expected a bit more from a restaurant in a 5 star hotel but the atmosphere was poor with grime ground into the edge joints of the table and music playing too loudly at the front, along with FoH forgetting where our coats were. Combined with the mashed tuna fiasco I would not recommend paying £30pp for a treat here.
Excellent venue and great staff. Presentation of food was superb. Food tasted excellent too. Portion size of monkfish was small so glad a side portion of fries was ordered. Overall was impressed but a couple of minor basic errors I would not expect from the Lowry: 1. Side portion of fries arrived on its own even before the starters! We sent them back. 2. Starters arrived but I had no soup spoon. Had to ask another waiter.
First the good points: lovely and clean interior, convenient location and friendly staff. It had all the ingredients for a 5-star experience, but we docked one star for their failure to adhere to our requests sauce on the side and inability to explain the dishes one server even described salsify as "deep fried beetroot". The starters and mains were fine, but the desserts were messily put together. Definitely some room for improvement
It was a very relaxing and beautiful experience! I took my mum for a birthday breakfast. The food was great, you get a continental breakfast buffet and can order few dishes on the side. The food quality was great and the price was really convenient. The service was amazing the manger that day Magdy, he helped us getting a beautiful dessert as surprise for my mum. It was my first time but definitely not the last!! I would highly recommend it.
Visiting for the Sunday lunch and had a fantastic afternoon and meal. All 3 courses were excellent and good value. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The only slight negative was the furniture wasn’t of an equal standard. Would highly recommend and would hope to visit again.Food: 5/5
Service: Very good. Food: The starter, pork belly terrine, was good, esp with the gochujang. The main, roast beef, was ok. I didn‘t like carrot but the one tasted delicious. The reason I cut one star was the roast beef was small, the steamed broccoli was too hard, and I was not given the wine I ordered. The one I had didn‘t match with the beef. PS There were many tables having afternoon tea set. For someone who likes it may have a trial.
