My first visit to the Quays Theatre, Salford, and first impressions are good! Welcoming and efficient staff made my arrival pleasant. The signage inside is well thought through, and the Quays Bar outside the auditorium is a great space for a pre theatre drink with wonderful views over Salford Quay itself. I was less keen on the auditorium. The dark red, gloomily lit interior felt oppressive. The seats, though comfortable and with adequate leg room, are rather shop worn. I was at the Quays Theatre to see "42 Balloons", a wonderful and 'uplifting' geddit new true story musical about a man Larry, the girl who loved him Carol and his flight in 1982 over the skies of Los Angeles in a lawn chair lifted up by 42 weather balloons. Do see this show. Like Larry, it really flies !
recently came here to watch metamorphosis by frantic assembly. it was a fantastic show and the theatre felt very nice and welcoming.the seats where comfortable and I would say you get a good view from any seat. it doesn't feel too big but it doesn't feel too small either. overall a great experience!
Brilliant. Comfortable well equipped modern theatre. Great views over the water. Saw the Lancashire Hotpots.
Great theatre. Seemed to be plenty of leg room in the row that we sat in. Not overly big, which makes it that little bit better being closer to the stage wherever you sit. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.
Beautiful theatre in top location! We loved the community feel of this place which is linked to The Lowry and has great gallery and community art on display as well as a lovely shop, café and ongoing superb theatre productions. A treat for all we think.
We bought tickets a few months ago for Friday and Saturday nights' performances. On the Friday we got two operas Cavilleria Rusticana and Aleko with a large company and orchestra who provided a great spectacle and powerful performances. The music and voices were fantastic and the emotions expressed left quite an impression. In contrast Saturday's Cosi Fan Tutte was very funny, a smaller company but the voices and music from the orchestra filled the space brilliantly and left just as much of an impression. Thoroughly enjoyed both evenings and can recommend the circle seats we booked.
First time to this venue. covid measures in place. Felt safe. Very clean. Lovely and helpful staff. Had a fantastic time to our first ever comedy show and Nigel Ng/ uncle Rodger was amazing.
Great theatre with a wide variety of shows even ones from London and wider afield. Allow plenty of time to find parking and be aware when using the Multi storey car park of Media city shops is very slow to get out off. Make sure you find a pay station before leaving which do get busy and be prepared to queue at them. Leaving the car park is also difficult due to poor exists. May be wiser to go for a drink or meal to avoid the rush to exist if you have the time.
A Joyous Jamaican Journey was fantastic. The venue perfect. Great views and amazing atmosphere.
We've been to see BGT auditions and absolutely love it , it's hard to get some to drink during the show but they allowed sealed containers
