We had a night out here, 13th December. We had a table for 12. The service was incredible, as was the food. Can’t fault any of the staff, the venue, the food or drink. A genuinely great place in pleasant surroundings. Highly recommend to anyone. Well done for putting up with us.
Came in on the off-chance we could get a table as weather was bit yuk to sit outside. Not disappointed. Staff happy to help and food was awesome. Thanks
Popped in on Saturday. Extremely busy but we were still looked after very well by the staff. I had the ham, poached egg & marmite chips. Absolutely gorgeous. My partner had the same with normal chips which they were happy to do. My sister had the lion burger which was so full of flavour. You can tell how everything is so fresh & homemade. Will be back!!!
We have come here quite a few times in recent months and often bring family who are visiting. We are never disappointed, the service is friendly and attentive, they are always happy to answer questions we have about the menu. The pub has a cozy, friendly vibe and even our dog loves it there! The food has been excellent each time we have been, on our most recent visit we had the mussels, which were lovely and just right amount, the Smoked Haddock was beautifully cooked and hit the spot perfectly for our Australian guest who was craving smoked fish as you can't get it in Australia! I had the Ham, egg and marmite chips and it was amazing, the ham was a very decent portion and was cooked perfectly, the poached egg paired beautifully with the hollandaise sauce and I couldn't get enough of the marmite chipsWould highly recommend this pub
Had a delicious lunch here with friends today.nVery much enjoyed our meal, reasonably priced and attentive staff, cosy surroundings.nVenison sausages, roasted leeks creamed mash and gravy, plus Sussex Smokie as a small plate.nCouldn't resist desserts of poached pear in cider with chocolate fondue, and apple, blackcurrent and nut crumble with ice cream..nA feast enjoyed by all!nDefinitely revisit/ recommend
