Ordered a steak cooked rare and came back well done, second time came back OK. My wife ordered a meal and they got it all incorrect. They swap the meal over no problem. The meal was given to us free of charge due to the mistakes. We will try this place again
I can only agree with the one star review. What has happened to this place? We went on a Sunday afternoon with two young children. Only 3 tables in use including ours and the very average lukewarm food arrived after 1 hour! One of our party had to send her beef ribs back as they were mainly fat and the replacement meat that arrived was rare beef that had been boiled. The chicken breast wrapped in pancetta was wrapped in back bacon. Not a big deal but would be nice to be told. Despite children being eligible for free ice cream we went home for dessert as who knows how long it would take them to spoon it out? Even average cooks could do better at home. Avoid unless every other pub/restaurant in a 5 mile radius is fully booked.
Its open for food monday to saturday 12 - 8 all you can eat, all fresh pub classics £5.99. its a steal really. Sunday carvery £7.99 12 - 7. Its a new business, so dont expect everything to be perfect, there'll be a few teething problems at the start, but they'll get ironed out quickly. All the food is good quality and with the price being so cheap, you should expect the drinks to be a little more than normal, but they're not extortionate. Im sure youll enjoy it and at the price it is, you may as well go and see for yourself
Another good meal. So busy and still treated us with respect. was looking forward to the lamb hotpot. And it wasn't on. Only bad bit was 3 workmen got the last burgers and put them in their bags. then even walked out with the ketchup.
I went here whilst looking for property in the area and had a beer and a burger whilst watching the footy and I must say the burger was amazing. It wasn't very busy at the time but it was early and the bar maid was friendly. After finally moving to Buckshaw Village we visited again, and again went for the footy. Same food as I had to have another burger, nice ale, one thing that was odd was that the football had no commentary, just the background noise, like the noise you would hear if you were sitting in the crowd. Would rather the commentary was on at all times. Would go again, just it is a drive away from where I live, not really a pub I can stroll to.
Staff here great and polite. There was very little choice of food in the "all you can eat buffet" . Some of the food containers were empty and some with a small.ammount of food in dried up. We went here twice after experiencing the same the first time wanted to give the benefit of doubt but it was the same the second time around also. All in all will not return unless vastly improved, shame really as quite a nice place.
It can be difficult if you are a Coeliac to find somewhere really good to eat. But look no further, The Railway @ Euxton is the perfect venue. The menu was as good as anywhere, the service was top notch and the restaurant atmosphere very pleasant. We had four perfect 3 course meals and enjoyed every minute being there. Tick VG!
Don't go! We originally booked this venue for our christening as we had been a previously and enjoyed the food. It also met our needs in terms of size/location/price. However, after dining one Sunday lunch time, we soon changed our minds. Service was slow, despite being quiet. Staff were utterly miserable and one lady in particular was just plain rude. All our plans, and prices, which had been previously agreed by one member of staff, were overruled by the rude lady just one week before we were due to have our celebration. This is not even the full story, but too long winded to go into detail. Needless to say we went elsewhere to Charnock Farm. This is not somewhere I would ever go again, despite the food being ok. Sorry chef! The atmosphere felt like we had just interupted an arguement.....perhaps we had although this behaviour did occur on two seperate occasions!!
We visited The Railway today to try the 'all you can eat' buffet. Firstl we were greeted with a warm welcome then we tried the buffet, which for the money I'd excellent value. I'd certainly return again without hesitation.
Great pub, decent food and a pillar in the Euxton community. Reopened some time ago by old landlords from years ago, just needs more support from everyone local to it. Go see for yourself, good selection of beers, wines & spirit's and top location
