Goodwin's Restaurant & Bar

Visited this restaurant for the second time recently with a large group. On both occasions we were impressed with the restaurant. The staff are really friendly and efficient. The food on both occasions was delicious well presented and good portions. The restaurant is very clean with a high standard of decoration. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant

Food is really great I cannot fault them; first place I have encountered that knows what a Well Done steak should be like. The service however is really slow compared with similar establishments. We were there a total of 2 hours for a main and a dessert most of the time spent waiting. Which is tricky to do especially with kids.

Stopped here for a full English breakfast prior to a long drive. Friendly staff and very good meals. They serve a good size meal with toast and a tea or coffee for £4.49. The surroundings are pleasant and there is plenty of car parking. This pub/restaurant is just off the M61 and so convenient for Chorley and surrounding areas. A good place to break your journey. Staff very friendly and the menus look to be very good value.

Previously “The Hartwood” selling 2 meals for £10 and similar fare, its been completely refurbished as Goodwin’s. Menu has gone considerably up market, unfortunately with prices to match. We had a steak and a gammon steak; both were very generous portions, massive wedge that tasted like onion bhaji, my gammon came with a generous wedge from a pineapple (not a single ring). You get what you pay for, the food was very good indeed, but correspondingly expensive - £30 for two main meals and two soft drinks.

Food was good. But service not so good. Big group of us.. kids got wrong meals.. but fair doos to the manager.. he knocked the price of the kids food off the bill. 50..50 to if I would return.
