It was very quiet on Wed eve at half term. We thought would be busier but there were more people sat in the conservatory area which looks out on to the back garden with table benches and a little playground. The staff were all really lovely, friendly and helpful & service was quick. The table waitress was attentive & the bar staff really chatty & friendly. The food can be a bit more expensive than a spoons for example but it is really good & plenty of it. I had the jackfruit wings they were great & tried some cheese pie & a bit of chilli- all really tasty. Had a strongbow which is £5.20 per pint I think & sat outside later with a tub of icecream got 3 scoops & the banana split one was wow. There seating outside to the front then round the side more family orientated near the enclosed playground with a little climbing frame etc for children. It was very clean, nice atmosphere & the music was entertaining cos it would alternate between a song from around the 50s, or even late 40s that I knew from my grandma/parents singing it to modern day songs which completely messed with my head but in a good way lol. Really enjoyed it & the kids go often & I'll definitely be going back.
I visited for a meal with a relative recently. Mixed grill was excellent. Steak cooked perfectly rare. Could be less expensive but that's the world today. Really enjoyed the meal and would certainly recommend it.
Booked for my granddaughter 6 th birthday. Choice of food on children's menu so good and really well priced. Took own birthday cake which staff happily brought out with candles lit when required. They even sang happy birthday with us. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. The play area is really good. I highly recommend this venue and will definitely be going often. Best venue I have ever been to
A really nice pub with helpful, friendly staff. Unfortunately the carvery was not great. Roast potatoes were too hard and the carrots and sprouts not very nice. To be fair we will return and try the main menu, which does look interesting
Visited on a weekday evening. Venue was very quiet - by the end of our meal we were the only ones in! The staff were generally friendly and helpful. The food was good and matched the quality you'd expect from a Joseph Holt pub.
Visited this establishment for first time last week and my autistic 2 year old loved it so much because of all the activities there for him so we came again today !! This is the first place me and my husband have found that we can sit down and eat as a family where he is happy ! Food was absolutely amazing and service was top notch could not fault the place , one suggestion though to make some crayons available for the kids menu so they can donate activities, unless you already do and I could not find them ha ha . We live in Preston and this is now only place we feel comfortable enough to take my boy , thank you guys !!!
Family of 4 meal. Starters were good but the mains were really bad. Chicken, burger and gammon absolutely solid. Came in tonight as heard was under new management and new kitchen staff but was worse than before. Definitely be the last time we go here for food.Food: 1/5
We were told that there was a 40-minute wait for food as they were 2 people short in the kitchen due to sickness. Ok. We waited 1 hour and 20 minutes. The food was distinctly below average. To be fair, we were offered free puddings by way of apology, but they were not much better. On top of that, it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant with no radiators on in the middle of winter. It will be a long time before we return.
Food was terrible. With my starter, I was given a spoon that looked liked it hadn’t been washed. The burger and chips I had were the worst I have had. The garnish on my wife’s starter looked about 2 weeks old. Another one of our party couldn’t eat her meal and took it back for a refund. We will never go here again I’m afraid.
me and my boyfriend went to have a carvery together, was only allowed 1 yorkshire pudding and you couldn’t even go up and get some more for £9 something. meat was good quality, the rest of the food wasn’t and felt like it was sat under the lamp over night. 2 pints of coke and 2 regular carvery’s £25!!!!! when we fished she took our plates and i asked for the bill, she didn’t come over as she forgot but i don’t see an excuse for that because it was quiet, so we went over to the desk and paid there. never going back again.
