Lovely pub next to Primrose Hill with a solid Sunday Roast. Partner and I shared the chicken roast which was £19 total. Very tender chicken and crispy Yorkshire pudding! Staff was friendly and the vibes were great. Would come back
Had a great pub lunch here. Really recommend the roast beef. We had a lovely view over Primrose Hill, which was very special. And shoutout to being given properly cold bottles of tap water for once in this country!Food: 5/5
Decent pub near Primrose Hill. The toilets were in a bit of a state when we got there at the end of a hot Sunday but I imagine the first pub near the park is going to get a bit busy! Nice staff, and beautiful inside. Love the place, and probably would go back.
Lovely vibrant pub just off the park in Primrose Hill. Great beers on tap, baked Camembert is delicious and coffee is great thanks Maia!. And we’re back on a busy Wednesday evening. Fine beer, great service and a feast - pie and peas who can say no and burgers - delish. Thanks Yoanna for the stellar service
What a fabulous pub in a fantastic location! My family and I had dinner there on a warm summer's evening last Thursday. The food was delicious and the staff were lovely and attentive. We shared the camembert and duck salad followed by steak, sausage and mash and a plant burger with yummy fries. The beer on tap was excellent. The atmosphere was vibrant and friendly. Will definitely go back again. Would highly recommend a visit.
The drinks and service were great but the food was not so good. The vegetables were so salty I couldn’t eat them and sent them back, then they were replaced with some swimming in butter. The steak was beautifully cooked but very over slated. The sauce looked like it had been sitting there for hours… I didn’t eat it. The battered fish was ok… not great though, it wasn’t very fresh.
We 2 patrons had the beef roast and pork roast. The potatoes were a bit off too dry, but the beef was tender and well seasoned and the accompanying horseradish was divine. The pork was also good, a nice hefty portion and the applesauce added the right amount of sweetness. The Yorkshire pudding was just the right kind of fluffy.Food: 4/5
I chose to spend my birthday there and I booked an area in the pub. The pub is very nice and in a prime location but I'm afraid I have to say that the staff ruined my birthday with their dismissive and, at time, contemptuous, attitude. I rang the day before to have confirmation that my group was allocated in the terrace and I was reassured that this was the case. When we arrived, the terrace was given to another group and we were told that they put in a corner inside. It was an unusually hot day and it was boiling hot. But most of all, they never apologize or show any sympathy. I understood that there was some miscommunication between the staff but again, the attitude was pretty contemptuous and totally uncaring. We decided to move on and celebrate anyway. We were a small and very well behaved group, that was too shy to complain for fear of being impolite or ruining the atmosphere of the party. The staff uncaring attitude was way more unforgivable than the fact that they weren't properly trained, and it showed throughout the evening. And it wasn't even busy, as we booked for an early afternoon. For example, we ordered a magnum of Rose' that is meant to be served chilled. That was about £80. They took it out of the shelf and put in in a cooler bucket that was way too small for a magnum 2/3 of the the bottle stuck out so, a part from the fact that it looked funny, it never got cold. All they had to do is to come to the table and ask: "sorry guys the wine is not chilled would you like to wait until it cools down in the fridge or would you rather chose another drink?" That question was never made and that option never presented to us. To add insult to the injury, they didn't even bother to remove the dust from the bottle! that's what I mean when I say that the dismissive attitude here verges on contempt, throughout. Unfortunately, since I was busy entertaining people I didn't notice what was going on until the bottle was opened and few glassed served. When I realized, I was mortified and I could only apologize to my guests. We felt that since we opened the bottle and the wine was in the glasses, it was too late to complain and send the bottle back but really we did left with a bitter taste. As I said, that's not just lack of training, it's lack of care! On the positive the baked camembert was really good.
A garden cafe, alright. Peaceful, full of plants and statues, it is a nice place to chill with hot chocolate and some food. We were lucky it had enough vegetarian options, which tasted real good.Food: 5/5
I recently visited and had a mixed experience. The location is lovely, especially on a summer's day, offering a pleasant atmosphere to relax. However, the service and food left much to be desired. Upon arrival, I noticed that drinks from previous customers were left on all the tables, including ours. It was only after I pointed this out to the waitress that she removed them, which was disappointing. We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it finally did, it was both tasteless and cold. This was a letdown after the long wait. I ordered houmous, cabbage cheese arrived cold and had no taste to it at all. No seasoning offered with tasteless food. Overall, while the setting is great, the service and food quality need significant improvement
