About

New first Sunday of the month early evening jam session at the Sir Richard Steele pub, 97 Haverstock Hill, London NW3 4RL starting next Sunday 1st Sept.

Story

Jazz is back at the Steeles in the form of a jam session on the first Sunday of every month. The house band will play a set up front and then it opens up to guests in the second half. To keep it interesting the band will change each month so keep an eye on this page for info on who's playing.

It's a great pub with great food and really nice beer garden. Closest tube is Belsize Park or Chalk Farm is a little further with Camden just a 15 minute walk. Entry is free and all are welcome.

Be great to see you there so please come along, play a tune and make this a success - there's never enough venues when it comes to jazz!!!!

Good neighbourhood pub. Vintage decor, good space, and nice outdoor area. Came here a couple of times for cheeky Tuesdays - half price off everything. Hot Wings were tasty, Bucket Ol' Fish came out hot and crispy. Tater tots was topped with cheese and sauce. We had burgers last time, and they were delicious - it was a good good ratio of bun to filling, and it wasn't greasy. Would definitely recommend checking out this pub if you're in the area! Vegetarian options: They have vegatarian tacos.
Only popped for a quick pint on the way to a gig, but would definitely come again. A good beer selection, options to eat as well and interesting decor!Food: 3/5
I can't recommend this pub enough! The food is consistently amazing – every dish is full of flavour and clearly made with care. The staff are always so welcoming and attentive, making you feel right at home the moment you step in. What really sets this place apart is the uniquel style and decor – it has such a great vibe, making it the perfect spot to relax with friends or enjoy a meal. Whether you're there for a quick bite or a long evening, this pub never disappoints!
It's great value for a pub. Their burgers and loaded fries are tasty. Went for the music, and it did not disappoint. I'm not usually a country music fan but the musicians were good.Food: 4/5
Cool looking pub! I like the music theme corner as it has interesting decor. My friend and I went for Sunday roast. Half a chicken with trimmings were £17. No service charge on top. I quite like the taste of the chicken and especially the honey glazed parsnips. However, the Yorkshire pudding was extremely dry and the “24hrs braised carrots” were simply boiled carrots. The service was nice and efficient. There is an outside bit and plenty of drinks to choose from.
The Sir Richard Steele pub on Haverstock hill is interesting to say the least. A big tidy wooden floored pub with a peninsular bar occupying the centre of the premises, never too far to walk when drink is needed. No cask ales on my visit although there is one pump with the clip reversed so maybe sometimes. There are some lovely architectural and decorative features including the stained glass window, the Batman and Robin standard lamps on the stairs and a dark painted bacchanalian ceiling. I also like the "Bombs Away" poster. A great pub with good background music.
Took my out of town guest to Sunday roast at my 'local'. Well, it was disastrous. We ordered a lamb roast and a chicken roast. The lamb was horrible - solid with gelatinous sinews running through each piece and could not be shredded. Almost the entire meat part of the dish was left on the plate and the waiter looked at it and didn't say a word. Which tells you this must happen pretty regularly. Both roasts were drowning in very salty gravy. The Yorkshire pudding was dry and had no taste. The veg was okay but everything else was subpar. I am sure other menu items may be good - but the Sunday roasts were very disappointing.
Lovely pub and atmospheric, the personnel is friendly, they have a big courtyard, too.
This has been our local ever since Stephen took over management. It’s the place to be! Amazing food, amazing live music, great people and all around fantastic vibe. We don’t go anywhere else in our area apart from the steeles!!!!Food: 5/5
