We went to lunch - the pub is lovely and in a beautiful position afterwards we walked along the canal, and saw a family of ducks at the nearby nature reserve. I had fish and chips, it did taste good, but the fish was maybe a little too greasy - the batter had really absorbed the oil. The portion sizes were fair. We also had dessert which went down a treat. We've been years ago before lockdown for Sunday lunch, and it was very good. I will need to get back for one of those!
Stopped here for a pint and some dinner, lovely food, atmosphere and staff. Had horseradish mash with my meal and it had a proper kick to it! My husband had a burger and said it was great.
We stopped by for a late lunch. It didn't look much from outside and inside looks like a regular pub. But the food was actually good. Great flavours and dessert was well presented. Pleasantly surprised. Great little find.
Overall very enjoyable. Food was lovely, I had a rare steak was overcooked but still lovely, and the raspberry meringue sundae and delicious. A little on the pricey side however worth for an occasional I reckon. Only complaint is that service was slow, even was relatively quiet. Someone in my party sent a steak back as was tough. The server straight away delt with the issue and said another steak would be made which was brilliant. However the steak took about 20, 30 minutes to come out, by time everyone else had already finished, a shame we couldn't all eat together.
I have to say that everyone else on our table loved thier food. I decided to have the homemade Burger don't bother as it looked lovely but having a wonderful looking thing on my plate that just tasted of herbs wasn't my idea of a taste of beef? . Maybe the chief doesn't taste the food or I was the unlucky one that they had the whole pot of herbs accidentally dropped in.
Great staff. The food is incredible and plenty of it. Too much if anything! Lovely surroundings and good service highly recommended
Absolutely amazing place. Forget anything you may have in your mind regarding pub grub. This place is simply outstanding. Treat someone or just yourself and go.
Arrived on spec and were immediately shown to a table. The nibbles, onion rings and aioli, and garlic ciabatta were just enough while waiting for main. The pork belly was good, if a little stringy. Would def go again.
Staff and food was amazing, lovely little place, went back day after our first visit as it was so good.
Excellent home cooked food, a good selection and good portions. Gets busy at weekends, need to book.
