Gorgeous lunch! I chose from the Light Bites menu, but... Oh my word, it was anything but! Gorgeous steak, onions and mushrooms on a garlic ciabatta with chips and a side salad. It was a full meal at an excellent price. What makes it even better is the friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble and they enjoy a bit of banter! Highly recommended

Having been to the white lion in Whittington first when I was a small boy in the 80's the change today is admirable. What once was a typical pub with a bar and lounge is now a well presented restaurant with an extended conservatory at the rear for dining outside the castle. The menu is fantastic with specials on the boards each time you eat. I enjoyed the garlic and chilli king prawns to start followed by chicken in a tomato sauce. Will definitely be back here.

Cold bar Over priced drinks . Majority of bar staff have not got a clue. Asked for 3 pints of guiness tonight and had to ask again 5 mins later idiot playing with his phone . No wonder pubs are closing. SAD.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Friendly staff , long time since we call in on our way home from our caravan , called in last weds excellent lunch great value for money. Will definitely be calling again

Went for Xmas menu... Food was good and correct to order, service was just OK.. And the bill was wrong... Didnt deduct deposit.
