The Holbein exhibit was so much more than expected. And just to visit the palace was exciting for a Canadian. Great souvenir shop. And fancy, fancy toilets! That's Henry VIII armour. He was a great sized man in his 50s.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
The Holbein exhibition held in the Queens Gallery is absolutely fantastic. The works of art are extremely well presented in the internal galleries. The introduction wall posters are well lit and easy to read as are the information panels on each of the artworks. For those who are visually impaired or want a bit more information there is an excellent free audio service. The staff are happy, informative and deserve a big mention as they form a large part of a superb exhibition.
Lovely and cozy exhibition space. Visited it for the Holbein exhibit and am absolutely blown away. Hurry up while it's lasts - you'll be researching what you see there for months.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
There are always some treasures of art pieces in royal collections, and you can extend a ticket to one year ticket easily. You don’t need to pay extra for audio guides and cloakroom is free too. Also they provide some small talks everyday in the gallery. If you are interested in the painting skills or fun facts, they have extra rooms exhibiting their research findings.
Still can't believe my Art Group had a ‘Private Viewing’ today, wow! Felt extra special and it was a great day and these are the pics I captured. Enjoy
For me who loves art, this was really worth it and incredible to see. There were set ups off of objects and clothes which were worn at olden times. Beautiful architecture all around the place and beautiful art pieces. It tells you the history of how people used to dress, live and paint. For those who whom are not much interested in big paintings and lots of writing, you’ll probably be there for about 20 mins.
Visited the gallery for the first time for the Holbein exhibition and I was not disappointed. The staff were very nice and friendly. The exhibits were fantastic and the building itself was quite nice to look at too.Visited onWeekendWait time10–30 minReservation recommendedYes
Of you like history, this was a brilliant place to visit to see royal fashion from the 1700's, the price comparison for today on some items was enormous. Good commentary via head sets about the paintings and clothes. Well worth a visit, plus get your ticket stamped for a free visit within a year for the exhibition.
THE GIFT SHOP IS OPEN. The latest exhibit ended 10/8. The next new exhibit starts 11/14. But the gift shop IS OPEN. Also lots of nice sales.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Worth a visit just to see the artwork. Not my favourite of the three places Queen's Gallery, Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace on the tour you can book but a great look anyway. Quieter of the three. Free guided tour headset. Use it! Recommend looking for the picture on the set rather than trying to follow a set route. A little bit higgledy-piggledy on this one. Hard to find the headset images but aside from that a great historical tour. Seeing the weapons, jewellery and clothing were great so not just art. Quieter than the other places so you can dawdle a bit more and take it in better but if you have booked the three, be mindful of the time. There is the obligatory shop too so you can part with your cash after. There is no cafe in this bit but lots across the road that it doesn't matter.
