The staff here are super friendly and efficient, always walked past the front desk and they’d give you a smile. I didn’t go for food but it’s a premier inn with an attached restaurant, so I don’t think you’d go wrong with that as previous experiences have always been excellent! The rooms were large and very clean and great to see some nice soaps in the rooms. The only reason for the one star deduction is that the hotel is looking a bit tired inside, the room key required some special swipe at the door to get it to recognise and let us in and things are just looking like they need to be updated. I cannot fault the bed, you know when you stop at a premier inn you’ll sleep well and I definitely did. The hotel was super quiet and the bed was perfect. Premier inn just needs to invest some money in the rooms now and it would be easily a 5 star review. I’d go back again if I ever needed to stay in the area though, and if you don’t mind a walk it’s not very far away from a metro station.
We booked into this hotel to attend a family wedding. The lady on reception was really helpful, working hard to facilitate us arriving early, earlier than check in time and one of the rooms was ready so we were allowed access to that one. We were allowed access to the second one as soon as housekeeping had finished getting it ready, the lady on reception even managed to shuffle rooms round so the 2 rooms booked were next to each other. Both rooms were really nice, clean, tidy and everything we needed.
Very nice premier inn, the rooms were very comfortable with everything I needed for a business trip. The food was very good and very quick service. Special mention to the staff who were some of the friendliest I have done across when staying at premier inns, great work keep it up!
Very helpful staff, welcoming and friendly. Nice little touches like a Christmas card in each room, and a small token gift. Would definitely recommend and plan on revisiting.Rooms: 5/5
Bit dated with no charging points and I have seen a tv so small since the 80s. Nice clean family room though and helpful friendly staff. Breakfast was beautifulRooms: 3/5
Horrid tired room. Not recognisable as a premier inn. Literally not one part of the room or bathroom looked like any premier inn we have stayed in around the UK. Including the tiny laptop sized to poking out of a desk on a strange pole. It felt like a museum where premier inn wants to show you the old rooms, like a cheap 1970's motel before the new ones we see in the tv ads. Even worse on the premier inn website it shows the modern comfy rooms at port of tyne. We checked out within 20 minutes a bd and await a reply about a refund. Disgraceful
Very pleased with room, massive double bed, plenty of cupboard space, shower over bath, toilet abd wash basin along with towel rails, ample room, Breakfasts really good, what with, pancakes, teacakes, bread, bread buns, assortment of cereals, pick your own cooked eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon slices, Mushrooms, baked tomato halves, baked beans and Hash browns. Also, peeled and sliced fruit with grapes and berries, yoghurts, and not forgetting teas and coffees of your choice, Marvellous. Sundays carvery12-00 hrs to18-00 hrs and then revert to the evening, meal of your choice as per the menu. Mon - Sun. Breakfasts as described and Monday- Saturday. As per menu.
Premier inn south shields has the best staff. I was devastated to call in last week to find the Brewers fayre had gone! As my wife and I got out of the car our stomachs hit the floor. What was once a little bustling place with lovely people who always had time no matter how busy they were both in the restaurant and hotel. SHAME ON YOU premier inn as a brand. You have completely ripped the soul out of the hotel by removing brewers fayre. You should have extended the lease. This is one of your very few hotels commended by myself and promoted across mental health platforms. The place to go in southshields as the staff were so considerate and understanding. Invest in modernising the restaurant and speculate to accumulate. Update the soft play!, install gaming stations e.g PS5 for kids who's parents can't afford it. Have a stage? Come on!!. You can't tell me builders book as often without somewhere to eat and drink. Have a attractive outdoor seating area. Change the name do whatever.. but you have lost the most committed, and dedicated staff that you had in that restaurant. My wife had tears in her eyes. They foyer needs to be more welcoming as it once was and why is Suzanne not the manager? That lady is so committed to the hotel and should be used as a role manager to other managers. Days off when we stayed she came in especially to sort out a burst pipe! Suzanne and her staff supported me through a nental health crisis. She sat with me outside on a bench one morning and changed my mindset. You cant buy that! If you want to increase profit listen to your customers. They know what they want. Get the lease and get your boffs to create the ultimate family pub/play experience. I live 20 miles away and would frequent if you could get the original staff back I don't you will find anyone of that calibre.crikey do taco Tuesday or something. Just bring it back to life. You're killing your customer numbers and your profits. Just do it right the first time
Clean and comfortable room. Happy polite friendly staff. Extra tea, coffee and milk and ice water available in lobby 24 hours. Clean lobby and courtyard. Stayed here 3 times and no complaints. Also a door off lobby takes you into a lovely restaurant which does buffet breakfast and has a great menu for lunch and dinner or just a drink. Food here and service are lovely. Disabled rooms available and access to restaurant is disabled friendly. All round great hotel and restrarant.
Spotless and Brewers Fayre selling 2 meals for £9.99 Unbeatable! Our heating broke down and within minutes we were back in business! We've booked for New Year. In 4 days, we got to know many of the staff too. Great value for anyone's money! Rooms: Spotless! Nearby activities: Sea front and pleasure Beach 2 miles or so. Safety: Very caring team. Food & drinks: Brewers Fayre has a wide choice of meals. The chicken tikka masala is fantastic and there's llots of it! Beer a little pricey pending your tipple but still average for the area..
