Hope your idea of a good hotel is getting harassed by the manager not 20 seconds after walking through the front door over a review I didn’t make most of the staff are rude and looks like they don’t want to be here to be fair I wouldn’t either the place is a dump can’t say anything bad about the lady with the black hair at reception hairs all over the room hotel looks older than a certain someone she knows who she is hotels are a mock for the prices they charge basically long story short the place is gross and most of the staff are doughnuts stay here for a quick way to spend your money and be disappointed P.S. if you haven’t already noticed I figured out how to make the review
Good hotel, clean and comfortable rooms. I like the breakfast very much. The staff is friendly and always ready to help. I have been living here for more than a month, I am very satisfied, I recommend it.
The location is good it's near the shopping area and a few walks away from the train station. The receptionists are awesome and kind. The single room is ok for a 1 night stay and you get what you paid for. The lobby area has a bar and they serve coffee and other drinks.
Dodgy. When we arrived we were told there was a party, but we couldn't hear anything in Reception so we paid up and went to the room. It was only around 8pm but already there was thumping music, no way you could even sit in never mind sleep. We went back down and asked to be moved, but when I was shown the room my partner stayed in Reception and he told me they'd got the music turned down while I was up there! We asked for a refund and were refused, went elsewhere. Contacted them by email afterwards with a polite request to be refunded and were told no. Tried another polite email and have been ignored. It wasn't the lady on Reception's fault, she phoned the manager while we were there with our request for a refund and obviously wanted to help. Clearly no manager on site, at least not that night, she was left to deal with things. We were not told about the party when we'd called to book nor had it been on their website. Awful place.
The weekend before Christmas we had previously booked, and upon arrival at the hotel about 8.30 there was a birthday party. The disco was just starting up and it was scheduled to go on till 12.30. We asked to check the noise out in our room and it was too loud for us to stay there. They offered us another room which was just the same. They declined the request for a refund . We would have put up with it had our request for a 50% reduction been acknowledged, but this again was refused. Very poor. I have business colleagues who were intending to use The Plough but on principle I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there. 0/10
Very pleasant place to stay for few nights, staff is very polite and helpful, nice bar and breakfast, I will chose same place next time when I will be in Northampton.
Rooms are dated but in comparison to other reviews, mine was clean. 5-10 minute walk into town centre. They gave me free parking and a free coffee in the morning for the road. In general the service was good, bed was comfy and I managed to sleep well. It was only for the night so wasn't expecting much and no complaints from my end.Rooms: 3/5
I had a nice stay here, I have come all the way from Wales as a student. I stayed at the hotel for 7 nights as I had no permanent place to stay. The room was clean and the staff are very welcoming and kind people who always assure you thay they are there if you need anything. The building itself is old but it shows great heritage. I would definitely recommend this hotel to students or people who were in my position. The only thing that I could say negatively about the hotel was the WiFi reaching distance, but it's not a big deal.
The rooms are okay and accommodative as long as you are not looking for luxury hotel. The staffs were pleasant. A bit of interior designs could be helpful though. Nearby activities: It's very close tho the town centre and gain access to shops, church and a club
Good service, bad standards With my stay at The Plough, we was originally scheduled to check-in at 2pm but was able to check in an hour earlier in a different room thanks to the help of the receptionist. Where my disappointment started is entering the room to see stain on.. well just about everything other than the fresh bed sheets. From the walls, shower, ceiling and the chair there were miscellaneous marks which I wouldn’t like to put too much thought in to what they were. Part of the tiling was removed in the WC and patchy paint is on the wall from where people have been smoking. *at this point I must explain our original booking was smoke free, I only assume with the room change from checking in early that this was a smoking room. The bed was comfortable and the room was sizeable and warm but that’s pretty much as far as I can compliment the room. We paid £89 for the room which for the area is pretty much as cheap as it gets for 3 people which is something to keep in consideration but not something I’d recommend to people who like a clean room for a getaway.
