What a great place this is! We only used the cafe which was excellent! Lovely,smiley assistants! Coffee and lots of eats to choose from.
Very nice for a Sunday brunch! The lunch offerings are great, love the relaxed atmosphere too.
Lovely atmosphere, the company helped, nice coffee, very clean and tidy. Good service time despite being busy and although I didn't eat this time I have plenty of previous times the food especially the baked goods looked and smelled lovely. They had a fantastic selection of food and drinks.
The Potting Shed is located within Askett Garden Centre, near Princes Risborough. It is absolutely wonderful. The staff are really helpful, and even cooked food doesn't usually take long to get to your table, after you've ordered it. There's a good vibe in the cafe. The cakes are absolutely amazing. The breakfasts are unbeatable, within the area, well sourced, fresh, local ingredients. There's a great vegetarian alternative to the traditional English cooked breakfast. Lunches on offer here, in my experience, are quite light - but still lovely. Lunch specials that I've savoured the amazing odd pie. Great soups. Chicken liver pate to die for. The menu options for lunch are sandwiches, jacket potatoes etc - but all really nice. This is a great place for children and adults of all ages. The Potting Shed has plenty of car parking close to the cafe flat level, for disabled or prams, good toilets, including baby change, though I'm not sure if this is heated in the winter... There is an outside children's play area which will keep children under about 9 years occupied for hours. You can book a table, and you SHOULD, if you are going to visit at peak times I think: Sundays after about 11am to 2pm, weekdays 11-2pm etc. You can book a table and ask for a quiet corner if you are extremely rich and retiring in character. Oh - and you can also buy a lovely plant at the Garden Centre.. : And the country side views are inspiring.
Lovely cute tea room in Askett garden centre, with smiley waitresses. Had a late lunch of bubble and squeak, with bacon and a perfectly cooked fried egg on top. Teapot for one with Earl Grey tea. All delicious. Would recommend.
Very pleasant small café attached to a garden centre. Simple home cooked food, snacks and drinks available with inside and open-air seating. The service is efficient and friendly. It's not particularly cheap.
The Potting Shed offers a double attraction as it comprises a small nursery with a very colourful collection of plants and there is a cafe which serves freshly cooked food. The plants are attractively displayed and the prices are reasonable, while there is s good selection of tools and other garden requirements inside the shed. It is conveniently situated on the main road between Princes Risborough and Stoke Mandeville and there is plenty of parking space available although the surface is rather uneven. It is a good place to stop for coffee, lunch and tea or to browse for garden plants.
We’ve been lots of times, but not for a little while. Food was great and initial service nice and friendly, it was a fairly busy A.M. However, the children’s outdoor play area is really tired now, with broken equipment / toys that should have been replaced by now. We mentioned a ripped piece in our last trip, part of a climbing frame that is now looking very tired if not close to dangerous. All too usual ‘supervise children’ sign and parents sat indoors with iPhones out and kids left to own devices. Conscious this latter point is a parental issue, not the cafe’s. Quite a few reserved tables, and we were surprised that our table got a reserve sign put on it 15 mins before the hour, whilst we actually sat there and no one even talked to us about it?? We’d finished eating, having been there about 40 mins, but were about to order drinks and cakes. Not the greatest customer service. Went to speak to someone, but there was a long queue so stood near the counter to grab someone’s attention. No one seemed to notice, but plenty of staff behind the counter.
Such lovely cakes and cute space. The hummingbird is seriously good.
Great breakfast. Excellent food, good service, staff are really friendly, it can get very busy at times so booking is recommended if you want a table at a Certain time.
