This is the cutest little coffee shop. Right on the river and very cozy. An ideal stop in the middle of the day.

Great coffee in a lovely old building. If you're walking the York city walls or near the train station you should call in. Much better coffee than what's on offer at the station, and only a few minutes walk away by the river.

A great coffee place. Lovely atmosphere if you are able to sit inside.Not too many places to sit but on a warm day just take your coffee and cake and sit by the river.

A quaint little place on the river bank which you cannot see from inside. It's a kitchen with 5 tables or so. Outside on the terrace, there are also around 4 tables or so for couples. They need some ventilation system inside. Your clothes would soak the smell if you were with me that time during which you order and pay. The staff were nice, but it took 15 minutes for 3 hot chocolate. I went there because of the reviews, so I have to say it's little overrated for locals. But if you are a tourist, you should definitely stop by for coffee or so.

Though there is very limited seating its always so warm and welcoming I just have to grab a coffee in here whenever I'm town. The food is very good - highly recommend the chilli jam with the avo on toast - and the tray bakes are sublime. Its a very quirky and very "York" building. A must stop for a coffee in York.
