Sublime food, comfy atmosphere and cheerful staff, it's a favourite with locals. There are daily menus with varied and delicious snacks, meals and desserts, including vegetarian and gluten free options (the gluten free is especially good!). I particularly enjoyed the house coffee and the brownie, though everything I ate was well balanced in flavour and texture, clearly very skilled in it's composition. Highly recommended, I've been going for years and it's always good.

Sunday breakfast was great value for money. The food tasted superb and was cooked to perfection. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We've been for lunch before and we will definitely be going back.

Amazing sandwiches to takeaway at £4.50! The pulled pork and Rhubarb chutney is 'the one'! Take them to the park across the road.

I've Always enjoyed the food and coffee here. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere in the winter or summer. I would recommend sitting out the back in the courtyard and trying their eggs Benedics if the weather will permit it. Can be a great escape from the busy streets of York. Highly recommended!
