Part of the Greene King chain of pubs. Ample parking, the tables well spaced, staff very helpful and attentive. Standard pub type food. My Steak and Kidney pie was very dry inside. A pot of gravy was supplied with meal, but didn't compensate for the pies dryness. My friend's Chicken and Mushroom pie was moist inside but the pastry was extremley hard. Prices not too bad for what you get. See pictures, onion rings were a extra. Update: Went for Sunday lunch Easter, staff were helpful, Sunday roast was perfect. They had put on a Egg hunt for the children and presented them with a larger one after our meal, nice touch. Update, see pictures of Christmas lunch and sweets, Apple crumble with custard and Chocolate Fudge cake with ice cream, everything cooked and presented perfectly.
Lovely to see it back open, the pub has had more TV's installed instead of the "big screen" so you can pretty much see a game from wherever you are inside. The outside has been tidied up with new seating too.
The first time we visited last night, despite living locally for about ten years—we ordered food using the Greene King app for two adults and three children. Ordering was easy. Food took a little longer than expected not an excessive amount of time. It was very busy for a Wednesday night, though - there was a complaint about the wait and the temperature of the food from a table near us. But we had no issues. The food was great, and the kids' meals were a decent size. We'd come back again. They also had a local choir performing Christmas carols too which was nice.
Lovely atmosphere. Food waiting times appalling .only half of ingredients served . I no you get what u pay for but don’t offer it at this price if you can deliver . I would personally say come for a beer but avoid for food . Asked for a refund and I got £3 off poor will not return .
Terrible experience, first and last time I'll be visiting. The pub only had 5 other tables having food and it took an hour for our food to come. We had to chase it up several times before it turned up. There was only the chef and one person running the bar and front. In the woman's defense she admitted there was a communication error with the chef and asked if we wanted anything to compensate we had just a coke She was apologetic and seeing how poorly staffed the place was I can understand why mistakes were made. The food wasn't great, a lot of it tasted like any other frozen product from a supermarket. The prices for the OAP meals have gone up and the quantity of food provided has gone down according to my elderly friend who's been going since it reopened. I can't deny the meals are cheap but you get what you pay for. They only got two stars because the woman who dealt with our complaint was professional and overworked.
Went on a Tuesday for senior citizens meal deal. The food was ok, just about average really. Some items weren't available even though the menu is very limited. We were actually given some of the starters for another table and didn't realise until we'd started to eat because the item was in breadcrumbs. Ended up eating them anyway because we'd already had a long wait. They did pop out to tell us we had the wrong order but didn't offer to replace it. Staff were friendly and cheerful enough and the meal deal is very inexpensive so I guess you get what you pay for! Coffee was good. I'd go there again, as I said, it was generally ok. Just don't expect too much from the experience.
My local pub! Best service I’ve had around Wolverhampton! Lovely friendly staff! Always look after you and you are left wanting for nothing! I recommend the pub to everyone I know! Can’t speak more highly of it I’d give 10 stars if I could
The food is spot on. Probably the best pub food I’ve experienced. The bar staff and the manager tho are the most racially profiling, lying horrible hypocritical people I have ever come across in my life. They need new management and bar staff.
Visited today and a very nice young man served us. He was left on his own while his so called colleague had an hour and a half break and wasn't bothered about working. When my husband was served by this lazy individual, it was only after he ignored my husband to serve apparent locals. Very poor service. This individial needs to be reminded he's an employee. I hope you dont think this is acceptable. We have started using your establishment once a week recently and whilst might not be "regulars" in some eyes but are spending good money.
Lovely staff, lovely fresh food, affordable prices and great daily offers!!
