Very recently visited. Great golf course in a lovely setting. Probably our own fault but when we arrived (wife and I ) we straight away tried to book some treatments to be told they were fully booked for the next 12 days! I've been going on trips with the lads for a couple of years here and the reception staff are so miserable and never smile and I would even say quite rude! Drinks very pricey but rooms always been nice if slightly dated. Swimming pool area ok but also very tired now. Could do with a facelift throughout and some new receptionist. Can't really fault the course.

Went for a weekend to use the spa. The hotel itself is quite nice. The bar needs modernisation. As you would expect it is extremely golf orientated. We ran into a golf society day so be aware that can happen. We spent some time in the spa but to be honest it wasn't great. In much need of a refurb the walls seemed to be covered in cracking acrylic panels and the jacuzzi was quite small and had loose tiles. But the staff were very friendly and provided you with lemon water and tea/coffee. The room was very nice and clean and the bed a little firmer than expected. Wifi is very strong throughout and with no registration so you connect and surf. Food was nice though we did have a trainee waitress who kept getting our orders mixed up. All in all if they spent some money modernising the decor and sorting out the spa it would be a top star hotel.

Lovely setting, nice room, simple but tasty menu. Stayed on a Virgin Experience voucher.

This hotel could be a lot better ,with a few changes,IE Tell reception staff to smile when you arrive.The restaurant should be able to offer an Alacarte menu ,not just a set menu.There seems to be a lack of staff.The lifts broke down twice in the two days when we were there.The quality of the robes that we rented from the gym were not good enough for a hotel of this standard.It wouldn't take a lot of money to sort out, but there doesn't seem to be the attitude to do this.
