Just a stone's throw away from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, you will find a thoroughly modern, bustling bistro - The Opposition.

For over 20 years, The Opposition, or "Oppo" as it is affectionately known by locals and theatre goers, has been one of the most thriving, welcoming restaurants on the Stratford scene.

The "Oppo" is the perfect venue for both pre and post theatre meals. Such an amazing find! Eating alone can be a bit tricky, but I was escorted to a lovely little table, tucked in a corner but with full view of the restaurant. Super food and super service. A must if you’re in Stratford
Absolutely fabulous pre theatre dinner on new year's day, with excellent service from the staff. All the food was beautiful and great value for money. Interior of the restaurant is cosy and well laid out for the space. Would reccomend and we will definitely return!
One of the best meals we have had in our month long vacation in England. Every dish was absolutely delicious. My wife had the deep fried haddock and chips and it was fresh and flaky - best we have had. My salad was fresh and creative. Our kids meals were similarly delicious. We would highly recommend!

Excellent. We ate in the second half of the evening, but the service was still great, all staff members were friendly and attentive. Food we had was excellent, and seeing the other dishes for other diners they all looked to be exceptional too. Our only downside was the table next to us was very loud, could hear every part of their conversation. Would highly recommend.
We ate at this restaurant for the first time last night. I had the monkfish wrapped in parma ham and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were very friendly and the had a lovely atmosphere. If I get the opportunity, we shall return.
Anniversary meal in this restaurant, from start to finish I have to say what happy professional staff, We had a lovely table even though it was v busy it felt quite private. Staff v attentive, service top notch food v tasty presented well & great value for £ what more could you ask for. The manager was one of the team he’s got it right keep doing what your doing it works Thanks to all the team for making our eve enjoyable x
It was recommended by our bnb host and we really enjoyed the place. We had the mussels and pork fillet & pork belly, the food was really good and came pretty fast.. Mussels were fresh and plump, the pork belly crispy but tender. Waitress was meticulous and despite not making a reservation on a Saturday as we have just arrived in town, they bothered to check the availability and gave us a table in 20 minutes.

Lovely restaurant on a historic street in Stratford upon Avon. We had dinner on Saturday evening and were able to have the set menu. Excellent value for money. The food was absolutely delicious, the vegetarian options were different. To the norm. Service was relaxed and friendly. Throughly recommend
