Historic and charming pub with lots of nooks and crannies to choose from as well as outdoor covered courtyard. We had a lovely lunch freshly cooked and tasty and were well cared for by very considerate staff.
Food was OK. Nice staff. No real ale though but I understand we was expecting lock down
Was sat next to a door and it was freezing. Asked to be moved because there were other empty tables near ours and was told we couldn't move. Steak was really chewie and fatty and had to ask for more peppercorn sauce because there was only 1cm deep in a silver tiny milk jug of sauce was given. Not cheap prices for the quality of food.
Comfy pub with good customer service. Food was luke warm but very tasty. Error on part of my order was refunded no problem. If the food was hot we would of scored 5 stars
Stopped in for a pint and a bite to eat. Was surprised to find vegan options on the menu this bring a more traditional pub. Been many times and would recommend going, they are managing exceptionally under covid restrictions.
Had a great night celebrating family birthday. Food was very nice traditional pub grub. Drinks were reasonable and the staff were courteous and happy to help. We felt the pub did it's best with social distancing rules.
Great game pie and good selection of ales, staff friendly.
Always call here for a glass of wine when we visit York. Lovely to sit outside under cover
