The Old Station Inn

About

The pub itself is a hive of memorabilia with an old Pullman carriage as its restaurant, which has been lovingly restored to all its former glory. Located in a converted out building we have 5 tastefully appointed en-suite recently renovated rooms.

Story

There is always something new to see, even if it's been your local for years and this Aladdin's cave of treasures from yesteryear are always a talking point. Think 'The Old Curiosity Shop', think eclectic, think imagination run riot - our Pub will always give you something to talk and invariably smile about.

Although there are distinctively 2 different areas, the food quality and the price are the same - more formal if you wish to dine in style a la Orient Express in the carriage or more laid back if you're after fun and the hustle and bustle of the pub. It really just depends on whatever suits your mood or occasion.

We have ample parking and a large beer-garden a 5 a side football pitch and a polytunnel for growing some of our own produce regularly featured on our menu.

Al Fresco dining with a wood burning stove and barbecue is available in the warmer months and dining under the stars on our deck is a must for the romantic. We are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner - all day on Friday-Saturday and Sundays.

Went here tonight with two young children, was thoroughly impressed by the train carriage we ate in, as well as the friendly staff who were very professional. Food was great to boot. The bartender was also a really nice bloke, who made a big fuss of our little boy. We all had a truly lovely evening, which has been a long time coming! Will definitely be returning.

A wonderful, quirky pub with the unusual touch of the restaurant being in an old train carriage. The food was delicious, from a very varied menu and the portions huge. Excellent value.

Had dinner in the converted Pullman carriage which is superbly decorated with high backed padded dining chairs and appropriate wall decs. The starter of whitebait was plentiful and very tasty. The main course was fillet steak and veg, again cooked beautifully. My wife had the chefs signature dish of a 1 kilo ham hock, which not only looked great but was mouth wateringly succulent.

Very quirky inside full of memorabilia and a wonderful well furnished railway carriage connected to the main building which is a restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Serves a very nice pint of Butcombe bitter.

Fantastic food and great service on a refurbished railway carriage. The pub itself is full of quirky paraphernalia - a characterful and fun night out was had by all!
