Story

Situated just a few steps away from the Roman Baths, the casual warmth of Sotto Sotto invites you to have a fun dining experience.
Our attractive and atmospheric restaurant is located in a cellar of natural Bath stone with vaulted ceilings throughout, and resembles the cavernous cellars of an Italian grotto. The main characteristic of our cuisine is its simplicity. We rely on the quality of our ingredients rather than on elaborate preparation.
We also like to offer traditional Italian dishes with a contemporary twist because we strongly believe in those 'Sapori' (flavours).

Wonderful meal. Not a pasta / pizza type menu but a more traditional one. Beautifully cooked and presented. Good waiters, all Italian. Lovely place to be in. Made a little fuss of my birthday. Good memories and would love to visit again.

Our group of four had a wonderful lunch here on 4th March and we were very impressed by the service and attention to derail. The occasion was to celebrate the Birthdays of my Son and I and the Staff made us feel very happy and special. A special mention to Julia who was charming and so helpful accommodating our Vegan guest, nothing was too much trouble. The Italian singing was such a joy and we shall certainly return, hopefully at Christmas and maybe we shall get a rendition of one of our favourite carols. Many thanks to everyone at Sotto D. Horton and family

Been here twice and the excellent reviews are to be believed. Excellent service; the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The food is great, fresh and such rich flavours. The atmosphere of the restaurant is spot on. The pricing is very fair, as Arnold says, I'll be back!

Absolutely shocking display of customer service from what is deemed to be one of the best restaurants in Bath. Reserved a table for 8 people for a night we have been looking forward to for the past week only to be met by one of the rudest staff members i have ever spoken to. Apparently if you don't hear from a restaurant after you have called to reserve that means that your table hasn't been confirmed?!?! To then blame the customer for not coming to the restaurant because you hadn't heard from them?!?! Livid. Embarrassing. Amateur. Maybe start by taking down the mobile number of someone when they book? Might be a suggestion. Well done for ruining the evenings of 8 disappointed diners. Promise so much but don't even get the basics right. 4.8....Ha!

Delightful experience at Sotto Sotto. They were able to fit us in on short notice and asked on the phone if we were coming for a special occasion. We happened to be adventuring in the UK for an anniversary trip and Sotto Sotto welcomed us so warmly. They kindly took our coats, greeted us at the table with a handwritten wax-sealed note from the restaurant, made great recommendations on dishes and drinks we were considering, provided exceptional service throughout the meal, inspired a smile with their Happy Anniversary note on our dessert, and surprised us again with complimentary anniversary shots to send us off. Thank you Sotto Sotto. Your restaurant is lovely. Your team is great. Special thanks to Simone.
