Really impressed with my night at the Old Stags Head, which I found through Trip Advisor listed under best vegetarian restaurants and it did not disappoint. A small concise menu, even for those meat eaters so vegetarian options were not extensive, however they were adventurous and thank fully no macaroni cheese in sight which is every other pubs answer for vegetarian option. £41 to feed 3 including drinks, great value and a friendly service.
Fantastic! The food is great - good quality pub food in big portions. The staff are really friendly and the interior is lovely too. It's got a decent size car park and lovely views. I highly recommend it.
Haven't been here in a good 18 months but thought would give a try since new owners in, very calming atmosphere, polite and helpful staff and landlord! Food was delicious! Hope it continues to thrive for them, will definitely be back!
Sorry to say that this once, super, friendly, quaint & historical hostelry is now closed and in a delapidated state. It needs a good brewery anyone but Marstons to have the guts & the finances to reopen this once wonderful vibrant place. Sooner rather than later.

Whet for food the lady that served us was great Sarah I think her name was?? On a poorer note we waited a long time for food even though the pub was empty and when it can it was not worth the wait at all!! Will not be making that mistake again!! DO NOT GO THERE!!!
Loved it here... MASSIVE Sunday lunch..proper roast potatoes an lovely thick gravy!! Superb meal..quick service by absolutely overly staff. Very highly rated indeed...
Tried The Stags Head first time in a long time. Food very good two sirloins and a bottle of wine for twenty pounds, staff great, setting lovely. What more do you want, we'll be back
Friendly staff value for money food was lovely and good portion size we went with some friends that came over from Spain we hadn't been for a while we would definitely recommend to go here keep up the good work again
Awesome drinkers pub at the moment but New River are determined to spoil it and it will go down hill rapidly in March so don't bother going.
