Well, that was positively nice. A cozy pub with super friendly and equally fast staff. Great selection of beers and liquors. The food was extremely nice and moderately priced. Fish and chips deserve special mentioning. Overall, commendable. I wish we had a restaurant like this in Munich. No, seriously.
I stopped there for lunch since I was around and I was the only customer at the time. I ordered the lasagna, which came with thick cut fries and the food came out of the kitchen quickly and freshly made. The lasagna tasted good and the fries were okay, but I find almost €18 for a portion of lasagna to be quite pricey. On the upside, the service was efficient and the waiter was very attentive and nice. In fairness, I saw the prices when they showed me the menu and I agreed because I was already there and hungry but they're different from the prices you can find on their website, so that should be updated.
This is my favorite neighborhood pub in D4/ Boosterstown and our week isn't complete without a crisp pint or many here : I love that the staff is incredibly friendly and nice to all nationalities and create such a warm comfortable atmosphere for their patrons. They are one of the oldest pubs around, so do give them a try if you haven't.
Tasty BBQ rack of ribs and homemade vegetable soup. They also added ice and a slice of lemon to my tap water which I like a lot :
I have been on a tour of the UK and Ireland The Old Punch Bowl has been the best pub on the tour. The Guinness is delicious. The stew is out of this world. The staff is lovely. Katie is a sweetheart. This is now my go-to pub in DublinFood: 5/5
Says there is a carvery over the door ... There is no carvery and hasn't been for a while. Lies and false advertising. The bar staff were ignorant and indifferent to serving and continued conversing with the local drunks. I would 100% not recommend itService: 1/5
I loved this place it's a old one with history attached. The staff is amazing so is the Irish whiskey collection. Nice to see some Indian item in the food menu. That have live music on Tue and Sat 9.30 pm onwards.
Came here following 10 hours of flight and a 2 hour long meeting … did not leave hungry. Nice big portions and delicious food. Great craic Dietary restrictions: Accommodating to gluten free
Really nice bar, Delicious food , with friendly staff
With a hurricane literally bearing down on the western shore, we took our dear friend to the doctor, where he received the devastating diagnosis of stage four cancer. We had a long drive ahead of us back down to Waterford but needed to grab a quick bite to eat as we anticipated sitting in the brutal Dublin traffic. We stumbled upon The Punch Bowl. Not being from the area, we didn't know what to expect - We were delighted by the food, service, and friendly conversation with the owner. They had no idea what we were going through, but their kindness was a welcomed reprieve from the hurricane rains and the bad news. Great portions, great service, and awesome Irish vibe! Highly recommend a visit. Try the Beef Blade - INCREDIBLE!
