Good food and great service. We ate upstairs and there was one server! He made drinks, took orders, delivered and cleared tables. It was amazing how well he handled it all, he even heated a baby bottle! The fried fish was a generous portion with plenty of chips. While my definition of a casserole is very different the Guinness and beef casserole was very good. If you're not full try the Baileys cheesecake!
It is a very lovely and lively pub very close to the spire. I went to this pub all by myself and had a lovely time. The staff was very kind and polite. I ordered myself a pint of Guinness and a bowl of hand cut chips. Also, the Harrison's mayo they serve is not the best, it tastes very acidic and weird. I wouldn't eat my food with the mayo they served. But try your dish with the sauce that comes along with it.
True Irish Pub experience. The pub was extremely crowded with multiple TV sets tuned to an international soccer match. The food was good with generous servings. Service was friendly and efficient for being overwhelmed.Food: 4/5
We really enjoyed this place! The service was great, the ambience is exactly what you would want in an Irish pub, and the food was fantastic!! I also liked it because it was packed with tourists.
Nice pub on the quiet side of Dublin. Not as busy as expected for 2PM on St Patty's Day in Downtown Dublin. We were able to get a table. Drinks were the usual Irish fair, Guiness, Irish Red, ETC. Food was good. Sandwiches, fish n chips, soups. We had soup. Nice staff. Good layout.
Great spot for good food and a pint. Found it coincidentally while trying to escape the weather. Dublin is a charming city but in December you will need a place just like this My husband and I shared some of the delicious sandwiches. Very attentive staff. I can highly recommend this place.
Cons: 1. I felt that I was forgotten about a few times. I asked for water and whiskey, but only got the whiskey. 2. After my plate was taken away. I waited between 3 & 5 minutes for my check. I had to go to the bar to pay my check. 3. I got the Shepherd-less Pie Vegetarian and no flavor. Can see by the photos how much was potatoes. Pros: 1. Food came fast, but very hot. Veggies weren’t hot and could eat right away. I went because of the good reviews, maybe that’s based on the beef, lamb, and pork dishes.
Fantastic Irish pub, one of the most historicals in town. The food is really excellent try the Brannigans chicken wings with hot sauce and the beef and Guinness's stew casserole, you won't be disappointed! The atmosphere is really friendly, as well as the service, all people are very kind. This pub is popular with locals, and that's a clue. Prices are ok, you can get a pint of Guinness for just 5.90 €, so that's actually 4 € less than the most famous tourist trap in Dublin, The Temple Bar. If I can suggest, avoid those tourist places like The Temple Bar and go genuine, there are lots of great pubs in Dublin that will make you feel like you are at home. Brannigans is surely one of these pubs.
Very polite and attentive staff. We had the seafood chowder, fish and chips, and the beef stew. It was all very good and would recommend this pub to anyone.
This place is a gem! The food is delicious and filling. The atmosphere was cozy and warm. We came in December so it was decorated for Christmas which make it feel extra homey. The staff were very nice and the food is reasonably priced. A great experience! Very Irish!
