Lovely, bar a nice atmosphere. But, unfortunately, unpleasant experience with the staff member named Ronan at this pub I visited yesterday. His behavior was completely unacceptable and not reflective of the kind of service that customers should expect. After the match France vs Ireland, this staff came with 3 pints in his hand shouting, "GO MOVE, MOVE, GET OUT OF THE WAY, MOVE" I look at him and said, if he want to pass, at least to ask in a polite way. After saying it, he asked me if he could pass without an apology. after the incident happened, I was making a comment with a lovely staff afterwards, and asked his name to make a complaint, and she told me to not worry about his behavior, that he Ronan "sometimes" can be rude with people. First of all, the Booth + the seats arrangement wasn't spacious enough for staff serve costumers, this arrangement of table and seats was in a corner beside of the pub, where fridges are stalled behind, making difficult the passage of customer + staff to serve. in additional, respect should be specially from a staff. Not even with dogs from the street, someone should to say the things he said with a rude tone of voice. I felt so embarrassed in front of many people around and friends.
Loooove this bar. I went in for a drum and base night. Good crowd, good music and easy to go in and out. So good for smokers or even people who want to get some fresh air as the basement could be very stuffy. I particularly like sitting out after a good dance to relax, look at people on the street and enjoy the lovely feeling of belonging to this city. It feels Paris like when i sit out and look around in the calm of the night...very few places in Dublin will give you this cool European vibe.
All Wednesdays there's an open jam session. Bring your own instrument! On Fridays it seems they have Irish traditional on the ground floor, and gigs upstairs. Great pub, great atmosphere
New management has brought this pub back to life. Hugh is a great host and has trained his staff to a high level. Great upstairs bar for events or just to hangout with some good tunes on the speakers. I was given a look at yet to be opened downstairs bar and it looks incredible with graffiti art on the walls and a top class sound system. Very suitable for the younger crowd.
Such a lovely place with incredible patrons. Great service, clean and very fairly priced. Take the short walk from the Temple Bar area to this pub and you will not be disappointed.
Nice atmosphere and very good food. I had a seafood chauder and a beef dish, all good and very well presented. Good atmosphere, not too noisy, very good for a dinner with friends. The 5th star would come if service was a bit more professional. Writers were nice but a bit unskilled didn't know who to serve first, how to position plates etc. All stuff a bit of training can easily solve! The bill was absolutely reasonable, all good on that side. Overall, a very good experience, strongly recommended!
Went for a jam session! Some really talented people there.
Welcomed into the pub by the owner and his staff. Good pint of Guinness! Hope they do well after seeing they have taken over the business
Was there a few weeks ago wanted listen to Irish music but there was too much noise from other music coming from upstairs. Not sure if this is a good idea as this was distracting and made us leave.
Disappointed, seems to have changed hands over lockdown. Music was loud and catered to a certain age group. Toilets were disgusting, had to warn someone in my company to choose wisely about what one to use. Just not the pre covid lovely pub I use to enjoy.
