A proper pub. Real log fire. Dog friendly. Huge car park. Nice cosy bar areas - there are three! VERY nice beers lagers and ales, we’ll kept. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
Recently changed hands and reopened. Very friendly landlady. Menu looks great but not tried it yet. Played skittles, ally was great and she had put the heating on for us too. Free food for skittles was an added bonus. I wish her all the best in her new venture.
Surprisingly good lunch, considering the place seemed empty and abandoned when we arrived in the bar! Why do people patronise chain coffee shops when the country is full of charming pubs with easy parking? Will use the 'Old Inn' again when passing.
Axminsters very own fried chicken shop I wacked my order in on the opening night at around 7pm for 8pm pickup, very impressed with the whole set up, food was ready on time, great branding and the chicken tasted amazing, great crispy chips big things to come from these guys I think. Stopped here for lunch with my family on way back from the beach. It was a great find. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent! They had hand sanitisers everywhere and took out details for track and trace. We all felt very safe here and would definitely eat here again.

We visited as a family of four on a Saturday lunchtime without booking. We were seated promptly and service was friendly and quick. The menu was limited as it was the fried chicken menu, so you may want to check in advance if you're expecting traditional pub food. The food was tasty - we had a mix of chicken on the bone, boneless chicken and in the burrito wrap. We had normal fries and parmesan truffle fries. The home made coating was tasty but light - and the boneless chicken pieces in particular seemed very generous. All of the chicken seemed very tender and moist. All in all a really nice meal.
Excellent, beautiful old pub with a mix of old and contemporary. We had two starters for a quick lunch and both were fantastic, the beetroot and seed homemade bread was amazing, can't wait to visit again. Staff friendly , attentive and priced well. Can't praise this team enough.
Food was outstanding, service faultless highly recommend giving it a try.The battered Duck and fish pie were amazing.
