What a great pub!!! Lovely location by a stream, loads of car parking and loads of seating in the garden by the stream. I had Monday lunch so quiet time, service was friendly, they serve food all day and beef and ale pie was perfect. Had chat with them it’s hard for them to get staff so I would say give them some leeway at busy times as the food. Service and location are well worth it!
Great little pub. Nice size car park. Plenty of seating. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice menu choice not to expensive to put you off. Food was tasty. Will be going back soon. Found the staff attentive towards our needs. Well done Hannah and team.
Brilliant pub use to go there as a child and now took my kids there and we had a great time, prices were reasonable and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, food for 5 of us took only about 15 minutes to come out, we enjoyed a few beers outside while the kids played at the park was a great atmosphere. Really enjoyed the meal as well and the kids finished it all which is a good bonus thank you guys we will be back!
We visited for the Bank Holiday and the weather was glorious. We came down to visit as we'd been watching Midsomer Murders and this pub was one of the filming locations and looked lovely. We were pleased to find there were tourist booklets to complete the Midsomer Murders trail. We sat outside and were socially distanced very well. Although it took a little while to be served, the service itself was excellent there were staffing shortages and the fine bank holiday weather meant more visitors. The food portion was very generous and good value for money. We had the fish dishes and they were really tasty. The location and food were both lovely, we would definitely make the trip to come down again.
A lovely pub! Had a spur of the moment stop. Did not book. We had an excellent meal. Chef spent a few moments to check everything was ok. Gentleman behind the bar couldn't be more helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back again.
Very nice setting. A very comfortable pub with a decent atmosphere. Good old fashioned pub fare done well I'd say. I had a burger, nothing exciting admittedly but I throughly enjoyed it. All in all a very pleasant experience
Absolutely lovely meals had today at this beautiful pub. Served well and on hot plates by attentive staff. Yes, you are right, I enjoyed it!
Very disappointed following lunch today. Have always enjoyed this venue but service today was non existent . We arrived at 12.15 and received our meal at 1.15. The pub had very few customers on our arrival. After waiting 45 minutes I complained and was told are meals were being plated up. They arrived 15 mins later! What a shame, won’t be coming here again.
Highly recommend Kelly, Darren and the team at The Old Fisherman!! I recently organised a Gender Reveal and Baby Shower here and the team were amazing from the moment we arrived to the minute we left! Kelly and Darren were such a great help on the days and made sure everything went as smooth as possible, going above and beyond! Such a fantastic team of people who really did go the extra mile We will definitely be booking again with you soon! Thank you so much once again!
We called in from a day out the staff made use very welcome found us a table food was excellent and the service was two will be going back very soon
