This place is very nice and elegant. The outside and inside of the venue look really nice. The pricing is a bit expensive for drinks, but I would say the food is worth it. There isn’t much service, you order through an app or at the tills, and we found one of the ladies to be a bit rude towards her staff. The food was tasty, we had fish and chips as well as a range of different courses such as the roast, the linguine and salt/pepper squid. We would recommend this venue for the food but probably not the drinks too pricey.
Tired shopping? Wanna have a pint instead? Yep, after visiting a couple of shops, my partner decided he wants something cold to drink. Greeted in reception, was sat down. Qr code thing - food delivered to our table. Guinness is always a good idea. Had the sausage platter to share - filling and ridiculously good. Nice sausage casing snaps and it was all juicy. Loo and wifi check :
So I had only been for drinks a few times. But liked my experience. Now I got to try the food and wow it was yummy! Lamb shoulder roast! We didn't make a booking but they found a space for us during the Sunday lunch rush and the food was great! Love the broccoli cheese and the lamb was so soft! Enough gravy as well on the plate. Very good!
I ordered "Burrata & balsamic marinated tomatoes" from the Small Plate menu as I wasn't feeling for a full-size lunch. I understand the term Small Plate. But, what I received was a half-empty mini plate for £12.50. I don't mind paying for the food, but I am looking for value. However, this was a joke on the plate. It wasn't even the whole Burrata torn into 5 ? pieces. I am not even sure it was Burrata, as it tasted more like mozzarella from Costco. There were 3 rather thin wedges of tomatoes and 4 stone hard pieces of bread or whatever it was. The cost of all the ingredients on the plate could be max. £4. The labour cost had to be peanuts as creating this complicated delicacy had to take like a minute. Thank you. This was our first and last visit.
My wife's Salmon main dish as per the photo cost £19.50. Yes there were sides we could have paid for , but for this price at a what is only a Fullers pub I'd expect more than a lump of Salmon and some dodgy salad. The salmon didn't exactly taste premium either, probably cooked from frozen. Amelia the waitress when we complained did offer us some chips for free, so thank you to her, however poor show from Fullers. Will not be coming back. Greedflation on steroids.
Myself and 3 others visited at lunchtime on Monday 29th July. 2 of us ordered the Tuna Mayonnaise sandwich with spring onions. The menu clearly had it priced at £9.95. When we went to order the barmaid said it was £11.95. I said I’m sure the menu said £9.95. Her response was, that the till stated it was£11.95. I went back outside to the table and brought the menu in to the bar and showed her and she got the manager who then refunded the difference…no apology! I hope they have sorted out the till glitch now! The sandwich arrived, with 2 tiny pieces of spring onion and a plastic bottle of mayonnaise for us to squirt into the sandwich. Avoid that particular choice and check the price carefully when you order. Other than that great pub in a great location!
THEE INTERIOR IS LIKE STEPPING BACK INTO THE PAST.. TRULY ORIGINAL YOU CAN ALMOST GET A SENSE OF WHAT LIFE WAS LIKE IN THE YEARS OF OLD.. FANTASTIC VENUE GREAT PLACE FOOD IS WELL ORGANISED AND DELICIOUS STAFF ARE DELIGHTFUL Vegetarian options: Clearly marked on the menu
Had a sumptuous dinner with a cold cider drink. Atmosphere is great. There’s a lot of space and tables to choose from.. I will definitely come back soon! Highly recommended! Vegetarian options: There’s a lot of food to choose from. I loved it!
Went for a pub lunch with husband and teenage son. I’m vegetarian and found the options limited so didn’t actually order anything. The place smelled of fish so was a bit off putting. We were given a table inside in a small room with another family. The atmosphere was a bit flat and lacking the warmth of a traditional pub. Husband had a sandwich and son just a portion of chips. £30 later and I’m still hungry. Probably won’t go again.
I've been to this pub a number of times over the years and it never fails to hit the mark every single time. Service is great, food is excellent and the draught beer is always delicious!Food: 5/5
