Great squash facilities and the perfect venue for several racket sports. The club includes some of the best facilities in the north west for playing tennis, squash, racketball, and padel. There is also a gym and racket shop onsite. . The lawnroom provides a good range of food and drink options and some really call tennis nostalgia. Both pool and darts are available in the main bar + outdoor seating. . If I still lived in south Manchester I'd join the Northern.
Went to check out the new padel courts. Looking good! Padel courts are in and play great!
The best club in the North! The newly surfaced tennis courts are excellent. Even better are the grass courts in the summer. The padel courts are excellent, whilst also having a roof to protect you from the conditions. They have indoor and grass tennis courts, squash and a gym. The coaching on offer is superb!
Only been twice and both been poor Seems like every opportunity they can they put in an extra charge Paddle not included, ended up costing £65 for an hour between 4 people £10 to rent a racquet for an hour on a concrete court with plants growing out of it that's not been sweeper since it was opened in 1881
As a tennis coach the facilities here are second to none ... all surfaces of courts from grass to clay plus all weather plus indoor courts . investment in paddle courts also available plus coaching in this area as well. Main stream Gym with high end equipment and trainers . A superb bar area with comfortable seating and patio area for drinks/ food , can also cater for functions such as Birthdays / children's parties with DJ entertainment. The Northern is a superb place for all things sport plus much more... Great staff and well managed. 5 stars all day long ..
Very overrated place. Synthetic tennis courts are awful. No international Grand Slam or tour-level competition that I am aware of played on such a surface. Tennis games have a really fake feel to them. Not worth your time or money.
My son and his best friend go to the Northern for tennis lessons. They absolutely enjoy the session, and the coaches have been amazing. Lovely place to hang around, especially the cafe. Recommend this place
Great tennis club lots of facilities and amazing children's tennis lessons
I have been coming here to play tennis for a long time. Chai coached me and taught me to play tennis in the squads.
An excellent tennis venue. A place for pro tournaments, which were being held while on our visit.
