Fantastic food and great service. I had a great meal here on Tuesday night, the restaurant was about half full but the service was spot on and the staff very friendly. I even took a picture of my meal as I was that impressed.
Tourists stay away. The food was really good but they will charge you 3 pounds for each cracker, chutney and even rice without mentioning it anywhere. It's a trap!
I see that there are several negative reviews, but I’m not understanding why. I had a take out last night, and the staff was incredibly friendly and prompt and my food was ready in about 10min. Upon eating said food, it was delicious! I got the lamb vindaloo with coconut rice and I couldn’t have been happier. It was very tasty and had a good spice to it.
Good quality food served by friendly waiting staff. Menu quite varied as long as you like Indian food. I eat here quite a lot and am rarely disappointed by the standard of the food. A bit long and narrow so tables can be close together. Toilets are down steep stairs, so not suitable for those with mobility issues. Big step up into restaurant could be an issue for some.
Food is good over here. They have some fish delicacies which are hard to find somewhere else. The portion size is less but they cook great. Rice is ordered and priced separately which increases the price overall. Its a trend I found throughout London. Also they are open quite long.
I've been here for a curry on several occasions. The food is reasonably priced and tasty. Nothing exceptional here just good food. The service has always been good and friendly for me. The place gets quite busy weekdays after work and there appear to be a few local regulars. I would recommend trying this place out if you are in the area.
On the 20th October, on Friday about 8:30pm, some friends and I went to New Jomuna restaurant as most of the restaurants near by were full on that evening. As we entered this restaurant, I could see we were the first customers. Not long after, tables started to fill up quite quickly. We were all tired and hungry and we ordered food and drink. We got our drinks pretty quickly but the food didn't arrive until the table behind us had almost finished their meal. I asked manager when would our food be ready; it's been over 30 minutes. The manager said I would have to wait with rude and aggressive gestures. I found that this was very unprofessional. When we got our food, I was utterly disappointed. The Naan bread was so burnt I couldn’t eat it and the lamb and chicken was too dry and over cooked. The food quality was very poor and the manager was rude and didn’t listen. I won’t be going back and I equally I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there.
RUDE, OFFENSIVE, SHADY and FALSE ADVERTISEMENT serving mediocre food. The food was mediocre and just to give you an idea, the butter chicken had a large chunk of butter on top the food! You won’t get what you ordered and you will most likely miss at lost one item you ordered! And on top of it, you will wait about half an hour to get your food! The manager is rude and you will be charged over 10% tip even if there are only 2 people- also not mentioned. They also falsely advertise outside that you get 30% off on Christmas, but that was apparently based on a Christmas menu that they will NOT show you! They will just give you a regular menu and you’ll pay what’s on it! I should have followed the previous reviewers feedback and not go!
I’ve lived here a year and being Asian myself, have very high standards when it comes to a curry. Every dish we had was fantastic, the service was brilliant and I’m so pleased to have discovered this place. Definitely recommend! Prices are reasonable.
The food is good. The service is awful. The waiter who received us did everything in his power to drive us away. We ordered 2 dishes and he says we need to order 2 main dishes huh, can you count? We ordered tap water and he insisted we order a drink. He was rude even to the other incoming customers who he successfully drove away. A recipe for disaster. Avoid at all costs!
