"Ishtar was the ancient Sumero-Babylonian goddess of fertility, love and light and this is reflected in our recipes. Opened in September 2004, the initial idea was to create a refined yet contemporary Mediterranean restaurant both in its menu and ambiance. With outstanding food, attentive service and inspiring music, Ishtar remains one of the best restaurants in London and continues to enjoy raving local and international reviews. Organic and locally sourced ingredients are carefully selected and interpreted with the utmost respect."

Superb food and even super service. Monica is a great hostess and Saeed is the best service guy you can find in central London. Lamb chops and Sea bass were really tasty Food: 5/5
Good relaxed vibes with nice staff/decor and not too busy. Central location so on the more expensive end since the portions are small. The risotto was lovely and decent portion. They have a private dining area for events with a screen.Food: 3/5
Came here with my friend Mike who’s a regular customer - and I can see why. Amazing. We had a selection of starters and I had the mixed grill. Delicious. Their chilli sauce certainly has a kick! Koftas were juicy and succulent as were the chicken and lamb kebabs. Perfectly cooked. Great service. Attentive and polite. They had live music in the basement on the Friday night. My only minor complaint was that my lamb chop was overdone. The fresh bread was delicious.
Food is great. Service is slow-paced but expected from a decadent place like this, there’s live music on the lower ground floor, that’s where the bar is. It has a nice ambiance to it, prices are on the higher end.Food: 5/5
Very happy with the overall food quality and the service was friendly. The starters were bigger than we expected and they were delicious! For mains, we ordered the special braised lamb cooked with plums and apricots and seafood risotto. The succulent lamb just tears apart without a knife, absolutely delightful! The seafood risotto was surprisingly tasty. All the seafood was perfectly cooked, super tender and not chewy at all. The risotto was incredibly creamy with a special touch of Mediterranean flavour. Yum! We shared the kunefe which was served warm. You can tell that the dessert was homemade and the toasted pistachio was amazing! Paired seamlessly with soft cheese centred kadaif. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will come back again!
Great aroma as soon as you walk into the restaurant. Food was above expectations, well presented and unlike most places the portions were more than adequate per person. The lamb chops in particular were succulent and large. The gentleman we were server by, Alim was incredibly friendly, attentative and quick to answer any questions we had. I would definitely come again!
The food was amazingly good and everything tasted fresh. We were treated really pleasantly by the staff as well. Would recommend any day. A worthy tasting!Food: 5/5
Amazing food, great service. All staff were smiley and available, no pressure to order, just perfect. Tried many Mediterranean restaurants in London, this is top. The mezze was spectacular and abundant, the slow cooked lamb mouthwatering. Great evening with friends!Food: 5/5
I keep going there for their baklava which is out of this world. It's got proper pistachio flavor and you can see there's really pistachios in it. This time had their savory items from the menu, very delicious tender meat reasonably priced overall great Food: 5/5
