I visited The New Inn today and last night. Was looking for a place that serves great food and I definitely wasn't disappointed. Last night I hadn't booked but they made room for me so thanks for that guys. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had the steak and real ale pie and it was superb. Excellent quality steak that melted like butter and there was plenty of it. Today I had the lamb shank with vegetables and lamb/mint gravy.....what can I say.... brilliant. Lamb just fell of the bone and great rich flavour. Compliments to the chef. Great selection of beers and I can see why you have to book. A must for anyone wanting a hearty meal, great surroundings and friendly staff. Prices were very good for the size of the meals.
Absolutely outstanding meal as always. Haven’t been here for a while but the food never ever disappoints. We had steaks and it was much better tasting than miller and Carter 100% recommend you will not be disappointed either!! Very happy customers
My family and I visited the New Inn last Sunday and had a fantastic roast dinner. The pub is nice and welcoming with a lovely wood burner near the entrance. WE were shown to our table quickly and the food also arrived quickly. Be aware that the portions are BIG . Both the turkey and the lamb we had were fantastic, along with a good variety of veg. The staff were all very friendly and professional, we can't wait to return.
Would have given 4 stars based on the food, it was lovely. Once food was served no one came back near us to check if everything was okay. Everyone was in next room with a mother & her new baby. I went to bar to pay and asked if we could be directed to gardens to finish our drinks, was told drink would have to be transferred to plastic beakers. We aren't teenagers & we had soft drinks, this annoyed us so much that we left discussed with the way we were treated. Have been to several other inns on our trip to England & was able to take our drinks outside after our meal
First visit for Sunday Lunch, was incredible, Roast Lamb followed by Crumble and custard... bloody gert lush it was !!!
Thank you Mark and team for our amazing pork and stuffing rolls picked up yesterday, crackling and apple sauce too. Enjoyed by all at our family celebration. Great chefs, so friendly and fun. Always great food and atmosphere
You can't fault the team here, always make you feel welcome. My Dad loves it here and hence we spend most of his birthday meals here. The only downside here is the portions here massive! Way to big for one person. No exaggeration, nobody on our table of 9 finished their entire meal, which is a shame as meant a huge amount of food waste. This makes me uncomfortable given the current situation when some families don't have enough food. Whilst I understand the owner doesn't want people going home hungry, there has to be a middle ground of just make the meals a little smaller, reduce waste, and costs of supplies and that leaves customers not feeling they've spent a lot of money on food they couldn't eat.
Popped in for some drinks with a visiting family member during the busy festive period. Lovely decorations for the time of year, polite, friendly and more than helpful staff members. Each Guiness was brought to the table instead of waiting at the bar. I will definitely be back for food on another occassion.
Fantastic pub. We held our daughters 18th gathering here for 22 people. Food was amazing large portions landlord went over and beyond to make it a lovely evening. Highly recommended.
15th October 2022. I had a family/friends get together tonight for my 70th birthday. I can’t praise the staff highly enough. I think there was 27 of us in total. The staff were polite friendly and looked after us very well. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Our age range was from me to 2 years. Thank you once again
