Note the reviews aren’t verified! Paid for a freestanding bath and Saturday night rates charged for a Friday night. Told my room was better than the one I’d booked. No bath, cold and very noisy as it’s next to the main road. Give your honest feedback, places like these are run by unethical individuals.nnCOLD, MUSTY, NOISY, AND THEY CHARGE YOU WHEN THEY SAY A REFUND WILL BE SORTED. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES - THEIR RESPONSE IS COMPLETELY INACCURATE.nnwas told my Saturday night booking was switched to the Friday night from their end as other hotels have done - I was cold and no bath which I was charged for. When I asked for fruit salad at breakfast listed on menu a large bowl of very old unprepared fruit was put on the side. ACCOMMODATION IS NOT LIKE THE PICS AT ALL.nnThey lied about giving me a refund, they took the money and are trying to appear decent. I’ve never had issues in all the months I’ve been traveling. Also, this place is on a MAIN ROAD AND NOISY - cars rushing by until late. I just don’t want anyone to have my experience.nnTHE ROOMS ARE NOTHING LIKE THE WEBSITE. Very tired, unclean. I WAS CHARGED SATURDAY NIGHT RATES FOR A FRIDAY NIGHT upon arrival WHEN I ACCIDENTALLY BKD SAT NIGHT. II was told the room was an upgrade and they would switch my booking for me - any issues with money being taken for Saturday would be refunded. The room was smelly & cold and the heater didn’t work - eventually a heater was provided old and barely worked. No fruit salad on the menu and I was given a basic menu with every option inc eggs. I said my experience has fallen short of the bare basics and was given a refund they agreed. I was told any issues with Saturday night/booking.com booking would be reimbursed - they lied and took my money for a night I didn’t even stay there. I WAS NOT GIVEN AN UPGRADE AND NO FREESTANDING BATH. This place needs some serious attention. The worst place I’ve stayed in during my 16 mth travels without any issues. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Will certainly won't going back any time soon for Sunday lunch which is a great shame considered the previous Sunday lunches have been absolutely wonderful. Even before we sat down we were told that they were out of cauliflower cheese, really!nThe Yorkshire puddings were bought in, the vegetables consisted of small amount of cabbage, undercooked parsnips, couple of green beans, a carrot and two so say roast potatoes. I had to request horse radish sauce several times. The whole experience was very disappointing and I will not be going back for some. Also two other tables we of the same opinion.
Father's day we had a family meal. It was absolutely delicious. Best Sunday lunch for a long while. Even catered for my husbands needs for change of vegetables. Cooked peas for him and they were plentiful, could serve 2 people. The meat was large portions. The turkey was cooked so tender and moist and the pork. I had the short beef of rib. That was stunning. We struggled to eat it all of it, but too delicious to leave. The soup I had to start was delicious, best tomato soap I have ever had. My husband said the battered tiger prawns were the best he ever had. They also cater for adults who want a smaller meal. A big jug of gravy was given when we asked for extra gravy. . Finally found somewhere to go for Sunday lunch, when we are visiting family in Bristol. Will be eating there every Sunday we are down and also in the week. Nice they stagger the seating. So your meal is being home cooked for you. Sick of eating in restaurants where everyone attends at the same time and then your waiting hours to be served. It was lovely atmosphere. Nice spaced table planning. Only downside is the toilet for ladies is upstairs and no disabled toilet downstairs, but they can't alter the building. But if u take a puff of your inhaler and someone can assist you. It's worth the climb of stairs. Highly recommend. Nice to have different veg, which u wouldn't have at home and you can order extra dishes, like cauliflower cheese. You can order extra Yorkshire and potatoes. But you honestly don't need it. Can't wait to come back for a steak.
Very disappointed booked this hotel in April as we wanted to stay somewhere special whilst visiting Wimbledon for the tennis. 2 days before arriving we were advised our booking was cancelled due to an admin error, why did it take 3 months to work this out it feels they had a better offer and we were just dumped by them at the last minute with very little option to book anywhere else, they have totally spoilt our experience and would not recommend booking here.
Lowely meal on Thursday stake night! Perfect stake and wine included. Perfect ratio price/quality. Strongly reccommend for all!!!
